i recently got a bit of money and went out and purchased FS9 (i know i know im a bit slow :P) but when it first came out i didnt have
anywere near its system requirements so i decided to wait. while lookin around at some FAQs, I saw someone post that this is a good
program that gives you the oppurtunity to fly your own virtual airline so to speak. so i went and downloaded and install it (FsPassengers)
and checked if tehre was any updates for it, it came back that there was none at the time. and i was really excited because i knew taht this
would give me more experiance at the game than the missions enclosed inside the game...

but anyway..

when i go to the demo area like it said to do with the splash and the info once u start the game, i select the demo tab and go to fly..... then
i press alt and then press the fspassengers tab and go to start flight.. then all i get is a black screen.. well if i click anything under the
FSPassengers tab.. i get a black screen..so i just press enter and it goes back to normal.. so i assume there is supposed to be a popup
window or somethin there.. my system specs are as follows:

Windows 98 SE (fully updated)
Radeon 9250 (128 mb edition- with newest catalyst drivers and control panel)
512 mb ram

umm anything else u need to know just ask .
i would really like to get this program to work so i can get the full version..

btw i have looked at FAQ and searched the forums for answers but none of them work

Im sure i once saw a post about a patch for windows 98 users, but i cant find it. No idea what the patch did however.

If its not that, i would go towards the graphics card drivers. I know you say you have the latest ones, but the latest is not always the best. I
have very old drivers for my card installed, whenever i install newer ones, i run into problems

Anyway, i'll try to find that post

ok well i will roll back my drivers to the previous version i have somewhere on my HDD, and ill report back here

ok well i rolled back my drivers and came up with the same results.. i tryed to use the Omega drivers and they also got me nowhere... i
also tried turning down the quality of the graphics ingame.. also to no avail.. any suggestions at all??

You say you get this problem when you go to the demo flight, i personallty have never tried these.

Have you tried just creating a normal flight, (remember you can only depart from 1 airport on the demo version) on the create flight
screen, then tried to start FsP once your sat at airport??? I doubt this would fix it, but its worth a try.

I assume you have tried reinstalling FsP just in case??


Jetsim, its not up to me who makes stickys, that post was quite a while ago, and for all i know Dan may have incorperated the patch into
the latest version

yes i have... many times.. also that link once i clicked it came up with the forums page.. and then the link on there came up with nothing
with the message

Search download with the Id "13".
Search returned 0 results

so maybe there is a different link or its just not availible anymore??

yeah your right, that patch thing must be in the latest version.

I dont understand the black screen, hopefully Dan or another mod will look in here and have some ideas soon.....

It is a known issue with some 3rd party windows open in FULL SCREEN mode. Revert temporarily to WINDOWED
mode (press ALT+ENTER) and the window will be displayed correctly.

Also keep in mind that it is always advisable to call FsP through the Menu rather than using hotkeys.
