Flap setting penalty

I sometimes get an error at the end of a flight stating "improper flap settings during takeoff is.." and receive a 300 point penalty.
The thing is, I always use the same flap setting on the same plane. So why would it only give an error once and a while? What else
would cause this? This is usually on a small prop.

if you set flaps and then load fsp it could cause this problem. i'd disable it mostly only jetliners or short field takeoffs require flaps.

Also, you should not retract flaps after takeoff untill above 200ft AGL. But better keep it up to 500ft AGL just in case.

Ok thanks guys I'll try keeping the flaps on until I'm at 500 AGL. That might have been the problem.

I usually let CP deal with flaps/gear, she's pretty spot on with them and the only flap penalties I've had were on a DC9 recently where I
only set one notch, aka 1 degree of flaps and should be 5.
