Hello,
I am currently using the trial version of FSP but I really want to purchase the full version as I really like what this program has to offer,
except for one problem and that is I can not complete a flight without a crash or FS locking up on me. On my first flight I flew KSFO to
KLAX and the flight was great until I pulled up to the gate, at that point I had started my APU and was in the process of switching over from
the generators to the APU when the I got the "FS9 has a problem and needs to shut down" box. Since the flight was not "ended" yet I did
not get credit for the flight. This flight like all of my other ones was with the PMDG 737-800 with the International business model. My next
flight was going to be KSFO to KSEA, preflight and take off went fine but when I got to about 8000 feet FS9 froze up completely. I could hit
the windows key on my key board and access other programs but FS9 remained locked up no matter what I tried, finally I had to close it
by right clicking on FS9 on the task bar and choosing close. Once I did that I got the box that says FS9 is not responding and once I
clicked end now it closed. On my next flight it was the same KSFO to KSEA and this time all went well until I reached 16,000 feet and then
I had the same freeze up as before. At first I thought that maybe the problems may be related to the crew announcements in some way
since on the first two occasions the problems occured very shortly after an announcement but this last time there was no announcement.
I also installed the latest driver for my Audigy 2 sound card before this last flight. Sadly I have never had problems like this before, the only
thing that is different with my system is the addition of FSP so I am hoping that you can help me because I would really like to be able to
purchase and use this program. Tomorrow I will try different aircraft and different scenarios to try and chase this problem out, I'll report
back anything that I learn. I don't know what kind of information you will need so I will include my system specs but please let me know if
there is any other information that you need. It is too bad that flight times are not recorded as you go because my company and my pilot
are still showing zero hours even though I have put some time in.
My FS9.1 System:
AMD XP 2700
1GB PC3200 memory
Audigy 2 sound card
GeForce FX5900XT video card
dual 120 GB hard drives
Windows XP SP2 with all security and other updates
All drivers are up to date
My system is free of any virus, spyware or other maladies and it is very stable. I own my own computer business so I am very
knowledgable when it comes to having a stable system.
If there is anything else that you need please let me know. As I said I will do some more testing tomorrow and try to nail down a cause
for this issue.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you,
Philip
