I will do as above, Simple Lights and Realistic Altimeter, since it is pretty easy to adjust the altimeter but not so easy to adjust the lights.

Who knows, as I get more expeienced I may decide to move on up to Realistic Lights. FsP will help to cover the training areas that
Microsoft's intergrated training failed to cover.

Realistic lights simple altimeter. I don't plan on sitting all through the climb with one finger on the b key thanks.

Actually I fly with realistic transponder, lights . But no penalty on altimeter. As i wrote earlier, the transition altitude differ from one country
to another, so until I cannot set one for departure and one for arrival, I prefer not to use this

Registered FSUIPC but also CH manager offer the possibility of activacting a key when RELEASING the button on the joystick. So if you
have
assigned a button to a 'reset the point of view' or another frequently used function , it is very useful to ascribe the 'reset the altimeter' or 'd-
reset the gyro' to that 'release signal'.
A small tip, but it will save you nerves since you'll be resetting the stuff 'not knowlingly'.
So...full realism I say!

I will be using the most realistic setting as possible. I may receive penalties to begin with but it will teach me to be a better pilot. I
do have concerns that I hope will not be an issue.

For example: Before I start my taxi I often test landing lights to make sure it's in working order (Not sure if FsP will have a failure for
landing lights?). If FsP gives me a penalty for having landing lights on before I'm cleared for take off this could be bad. On the other hand
you don't want FsP to allow you to taxi with landing light on.

Also in the rare occasion of passing thru 180 the altimeter doesn't need to be changed (it doesn't happen often but it's possible that alt is
at 29.92 below 180).

Perhaps these issues have been addressed (or not an issue at all) but those kind of things would make flying the full realistic mode not
fun. After all who wants to fly a perfect flight only to receive a penalty for something you shouldn't have.

With this said I'm confident the release version will have worked out any kinks. I'm looking forward to it!!!!!!

Do pilots test the Landing lights that late? That's one job I should have expected the ground crew to do long before the Captain receives
the plane.

Good Question. I don't know if pilots of say a 737 for example test this before takeoff?

However, I was thinking more along the lines of a Pilatus PC-12 (or any light aircraft for that matter). For this aircraft it's always the
responsibility of the pilot to make sure the lights work before takeoff.

The lights issue is just an example of a larger issue (if there is one). I would hate to be penalized for something I shouldn't. Hopefully
beta testing will work out any kinks before the release.

I will do as I did for FS, starting with the easyest settings and when I feel it too easy, turn on the difficultiees level until I reach my "unability
threshold".

In general, I am more focused on the physical flight (speed, coordination and off course landing). than the procedural stuff. like lights
which will come afterward. failure handling will also come after.

In summary, I will first check how I walk before running.

Hi guys,

I will make it simple...As long as people have the choice getting an EASY mode for beginner and an INERMEDIATE or PROFESSIONAL Mode, i think this soft
will attract most of the sim population!

OR

As we speak about career stuff...I could be a great idea to increase difficulty according to your experience (flying hours) and/or aircraft
flown....

What do you think??
