Question about Longer flights, with a new plane. Help.

My recommendation is before using FsP, is to use the FS9 training school to learn how most of what FS9 has to offer, works. It will get
into autopilot, GPS/NAV settings, course, etc. and give the basics for future flights.

should learn first by using the lessons the basic operations of flying. Without that most of your flights will end in a disaster

When you set the destination in FSPassengers, you've still got to submit your flight plan through FS9's flight planner if you want it to appear on
your GPS.

If the flaps were destroyed, chances are you're travelling too fast with the flaps down. Before takeoff, try setting the flaps to 5 degrees. When
you're above 500 ft, retract the flaps altogether.

Don't go above 250 kts under 10,000 ft; you'll receive a penalty if you do.

While landing, try to keep the VSI (Vertical Speed Indicator) as much towards 0 as you can - this indicator tells you your vertical speed in feet per
minute. A good landing should be very gentle. Hit too hard, and you'll A) bounce, B) collapse the gear, or C) crash outright.

Banking any passenger aircraft through 90 degrees is a surefire way to get your operators' license revoked! You want to bank no more than (I think)
25 degrees.

Setting the autopilot on will only make the aircraft stall if you have switched on the autothrottle but not set your airspeed first, OR, if you've set
the autopilot VSI to a climb of +9000 feet/minute, or something like that. That will stall any aircraft pretty quick.

I cannot tell you about the GPS, I never use it. But if you make your flight plan with the default FS2004 flight planer, it can sometimes give
you very strange route.
I usually use FSNavigator and export the flight in FS2004 format where it can be used by ATC and GPS.

About the autopilot, it mainly depends on which plane you fly. some autopilots are simply a bit buggy. Some others very sophisticated and
need a bit of experience.

On an old sperry autopilot, you have no altitude acquisition. but a pitch regulator. Up to you to choose the setting giving the wished VS and
watch on the Airspeed if it does not drop too much.

On most plane, you will select an altitude, a vertical speed and Roger do the job. But here also, the VS must be within the power available
to keep enough airspeed.

A good thing to avoid sharp attitude change is to stabilise manually your plane at the wished configuration VS, heading and speed and
then switch on the autopilot (or on the other way, tune the autopilot for your current flight configuration, switch it on and change gradually
the settings to bring it on what you wish.)
In summary, when you switch on the autopilot, it's settings must be as close as possible to the current flight configuration.

Avoid pauses and replay when the autopilot is on within a turn. I remember beeing very proud of my take off and initial climb and want it to
watch the replay, enjoying the landscape, and spot view. So, at the middleof a quiet climbing turn handled by autopilot, I paused and
replayed. when resuming the normal flight, I was confident that things would keep on quietly... In less than half a second I was at 90°
and -5000 fpm with screaming PAX and co-pilot shouting like hell pfff:

You have to learn to fly before you start to fly your passengers!
FS9 is not an arcade or action game, which you may learn to play just asking a few questions and getting answers.
You have to read a lot of manuals, pass some lessons...
It is simulator, so it simulates reality the best way it can!
And in reality you have to spend many months learning before you'll fly well enough to take pax onboard.
In MSFS it is much simple, though is'n not strigh ahead.
You have to learn.
All you need in SF help learning system.

Hehe ok ok, i get it. so i am suspposed to Trim everything right first exept the heading right? And yes i placed this thread in the wrong
section sorry. Thanks for all the help. How do i choose the Airpseed and Altidtude for the Auto pilot?

Depends on the aircraft.

On most airliners (i.e. the 737, 747-400, 757, 767, 777) there is an autopilot panel - Boeing airliners normally have that on the glare shield at the
top of the instrument panel.

On aircraft without glass cockpits (i.e. C172, C182, C208) you have a heading "bug" to adjust, and you can set the "altimeter hold" which is at the
bottom of the radio stack.

Im flying the 737, I wanna make some Longer flight now so i tried to go from the demo start airfield to England but the fuel ran out prety
quick, i then tried to buy the -777 but the only plane that i had in the planes that where avalible to buy list was the 737 and that one has too
small fuel tanks. I would realy like to be able to make longer flight. How do i fix this?

To buy another plane you have to select it in FS first then go to FsP manager and click on "Buy current plane".
