Something weird about ranks and Planes

Hi all,

Sorry if this has been brought up before but ...
I am currently certified to fly C6 aircraft and I am flying an ATR72 as my main plane,
I downloaded the wonderful FSP Planes.DOC file naming the various planes you can fly in each certified rank and I noticed you can fly a
BAE Concorde "before" a 767 ? that doesn't make sense ...
I think the "issue" is due to the fact that class certification is based on Aircraft weight and not on aircraft type and complexity, and that is
wrong in my opinion.
I was wondering what you guys think ...
Also because of this , once you reach C10 you can fly a 767 and a 747 Equally , that is also weird.
AFAIK , progress to a 747 is not as simple as a 767

Of course it's not 100% accurate, anyway there is no way to classify aircraft differently
in aircraft.cfg we have the weight , engine number and type. There is no value
"this aircraft is outstanding" or "this aircraft is very difficult to pilot"

Still more or less the class match. About 767 and 747 I don't agree with you anyways
after a certain rank some pilot would specialize to 767 and other to 747, you don't
need to first learn the 767 before flying a 747.

I think it would be asking an awful lot of Dan to try and do each aircraft on it's complexity. He had to make some compromises or the
whole thing would've taken another year or so in development, and to check every aircraft like that would have meant painstakingly
trawling the net for information.

I could site several other examples of planes out of whack, but I can live with little issues like this no problem, if you want it that realistic
then you would have to do maybe 10000 hours before you would even get near a Concorde, would you in all honesty be prepared to wait
that long? It's all about compromise; realism over enjoyment/satisfaction.

Oops I see Dan posted while I was writing my post, lol.
