Corporate flights

Hi,

I started a company and purchased a Gulfstream V, intending to model a luxury service for corporate passengers. Problems I have
encountered:

1) I can't set ticket prices very high, else passengers don't show up - I think for this service, ticket prices need to be pretty high.

2) The Gulfstream allows me to make inter-continental filghts, so I made a flight from Savannah, Georgia to Lista, Norway. Five
passengers, generating a negative income due to fuel costs. x50 that made a total loss for the flight of $441,000 !!

is there any way I can make such a small passenger count, luxury service work with FSPassenger?

I exclusively fly executive companies and I would like to see some option that doesn't penalize you for flying out of different airports. It
certainly makes sense to base the passenger count on repeatabilty when dealing with a carrier company, but the whole idea of executive
aviation is that you can go where you want when you want.

Perhaps in some future update there would be a way to select that your company is an executive flyer eliminating the pax number penalty
for not flying from the same airport or route. Even without it though, this is a pretty awesome add-on!

I would just start out with short flights until you get enough reputation to up your passenger load and then go for the long hauls.

gw, if you just started out the new company, you're reputation is probably still relatively low. I would assume that if you work at raising
your reputation, and fly from some of the same airports again and again, you should be able to eventually raise your fares enough to turn
a profit.

Sometimes you have to lose money to make money.

Keep flying out of the same airport, add as much cargo as you can, lose money, and eventually get your folks to trust you

Ok, thx for the advice, all. My rep did go up 2% for this flight. I didn't realize that it had such a big effect on ability to raise prices. I'll settle
on a repeated route for a while to get things going.

Of course, you could create a new scenario and set your starting rep at 100%.

While I can see why one would want to make a scenario with 100% rep, I think a better pat on the back would be to lose money, build
your rep, make sure you have a backup plane and pilot incase of problems, and eventually get yourself into the black.

Well... corporate flights doesn't nescessarily mean high income for your company.
Our company uses the Cessna CJ1+ with ticket price set quite high.
But if you set your ticket price too high even the rich and famous will stay away from your company.

It also all depends of the costs of the airplane vs. total number of passengers you carry.. just like in real life.
If you fly with too few people in a plane thats too big and therefore costs too much you may well loose money.

Look at your per passenger income to see if your company will ever be able to make a profit.
Its economics at work here.
