Land at wrong airport???

After some really bad flights with big penalties I'm trying to make up with some medium hops (KCCR to KLAX) in clear weather i.e. perfect flights!
I just landed on 6L KLAX, turned 2nd taxiway and ended the flight once clear of the active. The summary report says I landed at the wrong airport
and dingged me with a 350 point penalty but I see those beutiful purple arches of LAX right in front of me???

Could this be due to off-loading my passengers on the taxi-way? I did it on the previous flight, same spot and it worked fine! When I'm trying to pack
in several flights, I don't like to waste time taxiing around huge airports.

There are only two reasons for leaving the runway to unload your pax. 1) Sight seeing a cool airport 2)Taxiing to meet a timed arrival. As
far as I'm concerned the journey to the destination is the thing.

What version of KLAX are you using? Is it an add-on you downloaded or the original? I ask because the only time that I ever received that message
was in Telluride, CO (KTEX). My download contained a more-or-less invisible helipad near some parking areas and when I parked at one of the gates for
the airport, FSP thought I had actually landed at the helipad, thus the "wrong airport" penalty.

Try this...go back to that same spot at LAX and then use your GPS to zoom in to about 1nm and see if you see any labels indicating an additional
airport. You could use the NRST button as well to see the list of the closest airports to your position. That's how I found the Telluride helipad.

Running FSX with original KLAX.

Tried your suggestions (GPS / NRST) and found nothing. I have a nice screenshot saved but I can't figure out how to export the image to this forum
page.

I'll try the Apache approach on my next flight...unload the passengers on the runway....do I really have to stop the aircraft first?

To be able to view the image here, you need to use another image hosting server, then use the (img)(/img) with square brackets instead of round,
around the url.

As LAX is quite large, as well as having a number of smaller airports around it, it is quite possible that FSP thinks you landed at one of those
opposed to LAX.

Hey, I've been battling that this problem for a long time lol.. My situation is a bit different tho. I get that "wrong airport" message whenever I
land on a runway that is near a helipad or helicopter ILS(i think). SO once ATC telss me what rwy I'm vectoring to, I check the map to make sure the
runway isn't close to an helicopter pads at my airport. If it is, I simply request another runway.. I've learned to live with it lol..
