If you have the music running whilst taxiing out to the active when you turn this off the hostess will say "we are about to take off"

I don't play the music on the ground (my airline doesn't play any form of entertainment... except the occasional live entertainment); so, I've
never heard the FA make this announcement. As I mentioned previously, realistically you must be monitoring the CABIN speaker to hear any FA announcements. Normally, we try to listen to the LEAST amount of radio chatter possible. On the ground, it's normal procedure to NEVER listen to the cabin speaker. There's so much else going on, and we've got to be alert to ATC messages, the last thing I want to here is an FA message. We're actually prohibited from monitoring this channel on the ground.

Pagir,
I can assure you that the "SWA experience" is unlike any other. Usually airlines are very strict, and rigid, as well as being far from friendly. SWA is just the opposite. We encourage outgoing behavior, and frown upon strict, rigid, buisness-like behavior. Naturally, we're professionals, yet we approach work with a "fun attitude". The SWA experience is very casual... you just feel comfortable flying us! I'm not trying to promote my airline, just speaking from the PAX's point of view. I flew SWA many times before I even considered employment with them, and they always struck me as "different". Different in a good way! |
