Activation

Hi

I downloaded FSX Passengers demo a couple of days ago and found it to be a great product, now of course i'm hooked and would like to
purchase it. My concern like with alot of products (e.g. Football Manager 2009 grrrrrrrrr) is that they either need online activation or take 30
minutes on the phone trying to distinguish between O and 0 on your 6million digit serial number. Anyway getting back to my question.
Some people like myself as a student cannot afford an internet connection on our main machine (i.e. the one I have FSX registered on)
and thus have no direct means of activating products online. ie I have to use telephone activation. Is online activation necessary
with "passengers" or can some other method work? Having read the FAQ i seem confused on this matter. Looking forward to clarity on
this matter

I seem to have a similiar issue as Emma. My main rack isn't hooked up to the net, and since playing around with the demo for awhile
totally confessed me, I'm seriously considering buying FSPX! However, I was wondering if there's a chance for offline activation.

Would be great if there's a way.

You could do the following:

get another pci card (v. cheap) or just a simple usb to ethernet adaptor,
Link the non-internet pc to the adaptor
link the adaptor/pci card to the computer with the internet
enable ICS (internet connection sharing) on the machine with the connection

What Mr Uk just posted is a temporary solution to those who can get online once in a while. From what we've heard Dan is doing his very
best to find a solution for all this and apologises for any inconvienience caused. The main reason for the online activation, as you may
have read on several other forums or topics and even newscasts, is to fight illegal use of software. As you all know FSP and FSPX were
created by 1 person only.

Despite that he does get into your hair at times, hard to do when your bald though, Mr UK does have a solution, although subtle. (I would
just kick him off my plane without a chute but thats something else )
