Hey,
I've been using my Embraer ERJ-135 for a little while now, and have decided to change the cabin classes. I've been using the official payload model,
which wasn't quite right, in my opinion, so I decided to fix it up too.
The ERJ-135 has a maximum baggage hold capacity of about 2,600 lbs, so I used the Payload Model Editor to change the front and rear cargo holds to
have a maximum capacity of 1,300 lbs each.
I decided that I wanted a 2-seat First class, a 6-seat Business class, and a 31-seat Economy class (so I'm still retaining the original 37 seat
capacity that the real-world -135 has), so I edited the Payload Model, enabling the 1st class and business classes, and changed the maximum seating
for each. I then saved the payload model and quit, then loaded up FS.
However, when I tried to load my aircraft, I noted that FSP still insist on a "Front Economy", "Rear Economy" cabin configuration, and the fore and
rear baggage hold positions have their original 6,000 lbs capacity. In effect, everything I'd just done has just been undone!
I quit FS and loaded the Payload Model Editor. The changes I had made had been reverted!
So this time I made the changes again, and set the payload model .ini file to be read-only. This time, FSP STILL ignores my changes, as above, but
the payload model has not been changed back to what it was originally.
What the heck is going on??
(In my view, this is not cheating, by the way - real-world airlines can reconfigure their cabins at their own leisure
)
Cheers
Graeme
