FS Passengers bugs?

Hi all,

I have noticed two peculiarities in FS Passengers which are probably bugs:

1. I noticed I can earn more money flying Athens-London (a 3.5 hours flight instead of flying Athens-Tokyo (10 hours flight), It seems that
the income calculations do not work right after a specific duration of time. Anyone aware of the problem and/or solution?

2. I tried to create a new scenario with no particular objectives but a really huge airline. The biggest amount of money you can start with is
about 2,145,000,000 dollars wich is the biggest number storable in a 4-byte signed variable. This is probably not a bug but a limitation
but I wanted some kind of confirmation that I donot miss something.

Think about it this way in regards to your first inquiry.

The length of your flight is like a bell curve when it comes to financials. You can reach a certain distance where the money you make is
good compared to the fuel used however the further you go, the more fuel you use and the amount of money begins slipping

as for the second, not sure, I started with $10,000 and a $4000 Luscombe 2 seater

It still sounds peculiar as the flight was done with a 747-400. The longer the distance the more the fuel you use but the same relation
governs distance and ticket price as well, don't you think?

Depends on what you set your ticket price to.

If you charge the same amount for a 3 hour flight as a 10 hour flight you wont get as much money for the 10 hour

Is it that way? I thought that just selecting the category of the airlibne (e.g. Normal or Low cost) the prices appearing as default do not
refer to the whole flight but they would be adjusted depending on the distance. I guess I was wrong. I will try it out.

No, I don-t think so. The suggested prices are always the most profitable taking into consideration the number of passengers. It still
does not make sense. I have experienced a 40% lower profit in a 10 hours flight than in a 3 hours one. In addition whenever I increase
the ticket price the reduction of passengers makes the new price even less profitable.

No way is your first inquiry a bug! Keep in mind that there are quite a few variables involved in making a profit. You could carry more or
less PAX, and make more or less $. You could carry more or less cargo, and make more or less $. You could be buying more expensive
fuel, etc. See the above messages for some more hints on that.

In regards to your second question: Why would you need more than 2 Billion dollars? No airline makes near that amount of money in a
quarter! Don't worry about that!

Even if not bugs I still believe they are weaknesses of the software.

For example, a 747 can carry enough fuel for a 10 hours flight while fully loaded with passengers and cargo. Based on that I would expect
more prifit from long flights rather than shorts (3 hours). Well, I have not found a way to achieve this although experimented a lot. My
conclusion is that it is always more profitable to fly 3-4 hours flights rather than long ones. I don't think this holds true in real life.

As for my second question, I wanted to start a scenario with a huge airline (like British Airways in real life) but with this restriction there is
no way to have the initial money.

Maybe I am asking for more than FSP can give or what it was created for.
