Proper flaps during take-off in small prop??

If you are working on an update for the flaps, could you make it so that aircraft like the DC-3 that don't require any flaps for take off, but do
need them for landing are catered for?

When I flew Bulldogs we always set flaps 'intermediate' for take off, no matter how long the runway. Only exception was touch and go after
a practice flapless approach and landing.

I think just because you don't need flaps doesn't mean you shouldn't use them. I think omarza's probably correct.

My only experience is in Cessnas (152 & 172). Flaps usually aren't used except in special circumstances like soft field, short field and
obstacle clearance and then only 10%. My instructor always recommended a clean configuration on take off when possible and to clean
it up as soon as possible when not. It would however depend on the airplane. Some might require flaps.

When I fly Pipers or Cessnas I use 1 to 2 notchs of flap. Mind you that is from a 4000ft airport.
