SimFlyers KPHX

Howdy All,
Anyone else have trouble with SimFlyers KPHX scenery with FSP? Specifically, FSP reporting that you are running off the runway, and subsequently
receiving penalty points for it; despite being down the centerline of the runway!

This has happened to me while landing on 7R and taking off on 7L. I haven’t started to troubleshoot this yet, but was wondering if anyone else is
having this problem.

Check your AFCAD

This happens a lot with aftermarket scenery additions. Normally it's a problem with the AFCAD file as "pilot3033" mentioned. Usually,
they're designed in a way that causes FSP to recognize taxiways, runways, or other valid "taxi-able" surfaces as different surfaces that
aren't considered "taxi-able" in FSP. There's really no way around this (besides de-activating the scenery). You can also go into the
FSPassengers/config directory, open the "more_option.cfg" file, and edit:

DetectSpeedRollOff =35

to read a higher value such as:

DetectSpeedRollOff =175

This speed will be more appropriate for high speed takeoff and landing situations, as opposed to the low speed taxi operations it's set to
defaultly (is this even a word?) when initially installed.

This should remove any penalties you are receiving due to aftermarket scenery issues.

That happened to me landing on runway 23 with SimFlyers CYYZ addon.

the correct setting on more_option.cfg is:

DisableRollOutsideLandingStrip =1; // disable the roll or landing outside landing strip penalty

no need to set DetectSpeedRollOff =175


but even more correct is to have the right AFCAD file so surface detection is right.
(this is NOt FSP specific it's a Fs2004 feature)

Thanks for noting that Dan. The method I recommended would also work, right? I understand what you're saying though... about it being
easier to simply DISABLE the roll outside penalty all together.
