In flight services

My virtual passengers enjoy a stiff drink or two and even three, but wonder why at on a level flight, she who must be obeyed (the Hostess)
announces, after serving only a few lucky Punters, that we are about to descend and land. She then puts the bottle away and leaves a
number of grumbling passengers to their own devices and me taking the brunt of their unhappy travel experiences.

Seriously, this has happened on several occasions and I wonder if anyone else has the same problem?

Easy solution, don't serve drinks near your descent!

You should know from your flightplan and how far out you are that serving drinks at a certain time, and knowing it takes quite a while to do, that it
won't get done.

I'm running a DC3 (slow a/c) and almost 100 miles from start of planed decent.

what's your atlitude at cruise time and are you changing FL ?

Hi Dan.

Its happened at altitudes between 8500 - 9000 ft. (different occasions) and the FL is stable not even +/- 1 foot.

do you by any chance pass over mountain that give you less than 4000 ft AGL ?

the service is aborted if:

-G excess >1.7 <0.3
-less than 4000 ft AGL
-emergency declared

You've solved the problem for me; there definitely is not 4000 ft AGL and I am flying over mountains.
