Pilot bonus points

I'm really having a problem with the logic that derives the pilot bonus points. Most of the bonus points and penalties are clearly based on objective
criteria however, passenger opinions sometimes carry too much weight and a very short perfect flight can be worth 300 points versus a very long
perfect flight earning only 80 points.

Example from today:
KCCR to KSMF FT 27 min, Beach Baron, fair weather Perfect flight: 80 points
KCCR to KPDX FT 2hr 56 min Beach Baron fair weather Perfect flight: 80 points
Most all of my flights are perfect but the passengers opinions seem arbitrary.

Why should I subject myself to the tedium of a long, boring - albeit - perfect flight for so little reward when I can get much greater rewards flying short
hops? I've been an FS pilot for many years but am new to passengers. I really like to program as it give a sense of purpose but I'm getting frustrated
slowly trying to accumulate points / rank to get back to jets.

Any strategy for the most efficient way to accumulate points so I don't waste so much time on LONG non-productive flights?

I found that when I started getting long haul flight after flight that only got me between 70 and 100 points that as soon as I bought a new aircraft
of the same type and flew that, I was back up to getting 300+ points per flight - it may be worth you trying this assuming you can afford to purchase
another aircraft in your fleet, though I did notice that the chances of getting the lower point scores seemed to increase with how old the aircraft
and if it was second hand.

Since I am new to FSpassengers, all my aircraft purchases have been new planes (Brand new C172, Mooney Bravo, Beech Baron) and I have seen
no correlation to plane condition. I have even tried setting up the most horrible weather conditions knowing that while the turbulence lowered
passenger satisfaction...they would be appreciative just to be alive. I can repeat the same flight with fair weather setting with no difference....I just
don't get it...there's no pleasing them

I just tried a VFR night flight KCCR to KLAX in my Beech Baron. On climbout ~ 1500 ft AGL, I had a bird strike take out my port engine. I killed the
engine, feathered the props and shut off fuel (there was a brief fire) and declared an emergency. I was cleared to land back on the takeoff runway
(following the Piper Archer on final).... what about clearing the airspace and giving me priority landing?

I was of course busy cleaning up my aircraft, my seat and getting reoriented. Missed the first approach but nailed the second attempt. I had to
wait my turn though as the Piper Archer was allowed to stay in the pattern for touch and gos.

Upon landing, there were no emergency vehicles - just instructions to taxi to parking. The passengers cheered the fact that I had just saved their
whining, worthless lives. Here's the salt in the wound:

Passenger opinion: Very shaky Flight (62%)
- Dissappointed the flight was too short (well excuse me, the thought of continuing on to LAX with full right rudder for 2+ hours just didn't appeal to
me!)
- Reputation dropped by 2.9%
- I lost $1,100 on the flight not to mention repair costs

The good news - I got promoted to C4 thanks to 1000 point bonus.

The experience made me a better pilot and I'm thankful for the promotion so I can move up to a better plane (Beech Baron is a pig).

I do however, now harbor deep resentment towards passengers and the next one to complain will be summarily duct taped to the wing!

Duct tape is a must for all of my paxs...they pay for it anyway. Should any refuse duct tape, the canings begin

Perhaps I should have diverted to Abu Ghraib International Iraq (I'll build it if I have to!) A punitive alternate destination for non-appreciative
passengers to wait out repairs - of course there would be a penalty for using time warp (slew) to get there.

How about a placard on the back of the pilot and co-pilots seats:
"Complaint department located through the door.............ten thousand feet down"

Dirty, nasty goat-smelln' passengers. I say bolt the lot of them to the missle pylons and fly 'em through the tree tops. Let them pick
branchs from between their teeth when I land.

I forgot to add that they are naked and drunk. It's easier to induce the desired projectile vomitting that way.

Funny how its called "FS Passengers", and passengers is who we hate. OK well, we do at least like their money.
