fuel reserve penalty

Hi,
Can you disable the fuel reserve penalty? If so, how do you do it? I have seen posts on here from people that say you can and people that say you
cant. My Just Flight R44, I can only be up for about 25 minutes because you have to have atleast 45minutes left. lol

no way to disable it, but there are ways to get around it, such as modifying the fuel burn rate in the aircraft's configuration file.

OK, What do I look for in the configuration file? What would the correct "wording" I would need to change? Thanks

In that particular aircraft's .cfg file you'll need to lower the numerical value of "Thrust Specific Fuel Consumption". If there isn't a vaule for
it, then add "ThrustSpecificFuelConsumption = 0.4" to the end of the section that says "TurbineEngineData". If the value 0.4 uses fuel too quickly,
then lower the value to 0.3 and try it.

The topic of refuelling in between legs like that has been discussed in this forum before and the general idea was that it wasn't advised, especially
if people wanted to keep the exact same payload as when they started on their first leg. There are, anyway, a number of aircraft addons for FSX that
have incorrect data in their .cfg files, as well as some of the default aircraft.

Recon: It is an R44 Helicopter, not airplane. According to this game you need 45 minutes of reserve fuel left. That means I can only fly for about
30-45 minutes before I will get penalized. A shorter flight would be pointless. The R44 Helicopter can go for much longer than 45 minutes, so this is
not realistic. Also, you cannot refuel halfway as whiskey-zulu said.

its probably been mentioned before but why not stop off halfway and refuel?? i havent tried it but it sounds like a great idea, just add on
some extra time!!!

1) The 45 min. is not something pulled out of thin air, it's an FAA reg.
2) To refuel enroute you must set the parking brake, which is a no-no if you have programed a set arrival time.
3) I cann't tell you how pleased I am to have someone other than me flying rotary. My advise to you is to pick another bird if you want to fly
for money. The Bell/Textron 412, Augusta 109, and the Bell 430 are okay but you must choose your destination wisely. Check out
hovercontrol.com for more airframes.
