FS9: Lazy Baron 58

Hi!

I've been flying the default FS9 Baron with FSP for a while, using the default payload model (I think) and have some questions:

- When fully loading the airplane, I usually only have room for about 50 % fuel. This shouldn't be a problem, if it wasn't for the planes
horrid fuel consumption; with 50 % fuel I can barely make 400NM at 12000ft and 135KIAS without getting a fuel reserve penalty, while the
plane info says it should have no problem doing 1500 miles at 100 % fuel. Is the Baron really this thirsty?
- I've pressurized the plane, as the plane info says it is able to reach 20000ft. However, the plane isn't able to climb much above 12000ft
before the engines are unable to keep speed sufficiently high, even when step climbing at full throttle.

I'm therefore starting to suspect that there is something wrong with my aircraft.cfg; does anyone here have the original file, so I can
compare some of the numbers? (I'm currently studying 500kms from home, where my CDs are...). Or is this the correct behaviour?

I would say go up to the Beech website and commpare the .cfg file to the specs they put on the website and alter accordingly. A number of us have had
fuel consupmtion problems and MTW problems with the default B738 in FSX because MS altered some of the specs in the .cfg from the Boeing specs.

I'm hoping that your adjusting the mixtures/ power settings when flying the 58 (or any prop)

I'm running on auto-mixture, which hasn't rendered any problems when flying the DC3 or the Mooney at 12000ft.

Also keep in mind, just becuase you pressurised the aircraft in FSP

The aircraft its self might be (in the CFG) still flying on the stock standard 58 (in other words, engines are unable to fly above a certian height)

I found for me the best flight for the baron was KSFO to KSEA(San Fran to Seattle). Heres my run for reference . EDIT: I forgot to put the leanings in . 2500RPM, 12GPH/engine 19inches manifold@10100ft Oh it helps if you have a weather program to keep an eye out for icing cos despite anti-icing, a light drizzle will turn to ice faster than you know it, EGT drops to almost nothing in 30seconds(glide descent,till restart or engine defrosts ) Same as Mooney pressing H for carb heat (and alt air) works,(MP drops off, take evasive action). Oddly enough the leading edge anti-icing doesnt do much.

I'll definitely compare your flight data with my own, Emmaa, to see if I find any discrepancies.

However, if anybody knows which parameters to be on the lookout for in the aircraft.cfg, I'd be happy to know!
