Does it actually work or is it just animation?

I'm asking because after flying in war zone (Africa) I had damaged electrical systems, hydraulic system and almost everything else so I couldn't lower
gears normally. So I used ctr+g and had them down when I looked outside. But after landing I got message that I did nice belly landing.

But before I had electrical systems failure in Mooney and that prevented me from lowering gears. So I tried belly landing and got message that I
crashed with only simple malfunction.

sounds like they were "down" but not "locked". after locking the stowed gear and manually pumping keep going for a while not just when
they look like they might be down. Manual lowering of the gear does really work, it isn't just visual. The visual is just showing the position
as it is read from the aircraft. But if you watch the lowering when electrical is working fine, the gear doesn't lock until a while after it
appears down. I did many of them when testing the electrical failures for FSPX
