An amazing transformation

I've decided to post this in the respective forums for each product I've purchased recently for my FSX installation.

I must say the core group of apps together; Pro Flight Emulator, Flight Deck Companion, Active Sky Advanced, and FS Passengers X has
completely transformed my flight simming experience.



FSX is no longer just a pretty and modestly accurate flight simulation game, it is now an amazingly realistic, immersive, role playing
experience in flight. I haven't been this excited about virtual aviation since I first discovered it many years ago.

Thanks to all the developers who's excellent and continually evolving products have rekindled my love of virtual flying.

Gday there fellow simmers new to this forum.

Would just like to ask virgil about running Pro Flight Emulator, Active Sky Advanced and FS Passengers X all together.

Mate i already run ASA and am seriously thinking about buying FS Passengers X and Pro Flight Emulator to further
enhance my flight sim experience on FSX.

I'd be eternally grateful if you could please give me some pointers etc as the how to run the 3 programs successfully together.

Gday there Pagir and thanks for your reply.

Reason i'm asking these things is I read in threads elsewhere that the more addons you are running in FSX,
more and more people are getting Out of Memory messages.

So hence why i'm asking how all 3 of these addons work together, so i'll have a bit of an idea first.
I am running 2 gig ram so hopefully that would be sufficient to run these 3 together.

So if anyone else can shed some light on my question would be great if they could.

Edit: Plus if they can direct me in the right way of running these 3 addons together would be appreciated as well.

I don't understand. As already mentioned, no advice is going to be more helpful or informative than actually running the software on your own machine,
and FSPX allows you to do that before you buy it. Are you going to get "out of memory" errors? You can try it and find out, or hope that some stranger
can take a wild guess. Which approach seems more useful?

iflyfsx has it right. Set up the demos and run them all yourself, that is the only real test of how your machine will handle the load since
every users workstation is very different.

I'll gladly answer your question though, as well. I am running a 3.2 Ghz AMD athlon dual core processor with 4 gigs of ram and a single
NVIDIA 8800 video card all in an XP Pro 64 bit OS. I can not run FSX maxed out on the scenery bells and whistles but I get perfectly flyable
frame rates with about 80 % max settings in FSX. The bottleneck on my system is the texture handling on my single, too often overworked
video card. (Can't say I'm overly impressed with NVIDIA'S high end cards any more but that's another matter.)

Running all the other support apps such as active sky and fs passengers, etc..... gives me little or no hit on frame rates because the
additional loads are almost entirely to my CPU which, apparently, still has plenty cycles to spare, instead of the GPU.

Every system is subtly different, but I hope my reply gives some idea of where you'll stand on your own machine with 5 independent apps
running just to make FSX that much more immersive. :O)

virgil i'm running same GPU as you are but mine is an 8800GT factory overclocked and i have no problems with it with scenery and stuff. In fact i'm
very happy with the card. I also am running a duo core E8500 3.16 GHZ CPU which i am also very happy with.

Where my system might be falling down is my ram. I am running 2 gigs of corsair 800 ram, but having no problems running FSX in windowed mode with just
about same settings in FSX as you are virgil, 80%.

I'm still pretty confident my 2 gigs of ram is sufficient as i monitor FSX with a couple of addons already that i have running with it and i still
have a reasonable amount of ram left to use up.

iflysx ... i have downloaded the demo and installed it .... just one question ... where is the user guide for FSXP?
I can't seem to find it anywhere in the folders.

Yes virgil every system is different granted so i'm sure mine will run just fine with FSXP, Pro Flight Emulator and Active Sky all at once.
I would appreciate it very much virgil if you can steer me in the right direction as to setting up both FSXP and Pro Flight Emulator to run together.

From the menu, FsPassengers > Documentation and Help > PsPassengers PDF documentation

Or you can find it under Program Files\ ... \PsPassengers\language\English\Documentation.pdf

Also in French and German.
