Failures Question

Hi folks!

Yesterday I encountered my first FsP failure... a rapid decompression of the cabin. Don't worry, all is gone fine and my virtual passengers
now are safely at home!

However, once I completed the emergency descent, I took my Quick Reference Handbook of the LDS 767 to read about what to do in this
case, but I was surprised to see that the LevelD was working fine, no failures in the pressurization system... no warnings on the eicas...
so no checklist to be done... because the non normal checklists are done on the panel itself to solve some failures... but if the failures
are only in FsP, there is nothing to solve... so, my question is this: the failures that FsP simulates, are simulated in FsP only or also in the
panel? For example, if FsP simulates a bleed duct leack, the LDS eicas will advise me with a warning and the failure can be solved
using the checklist or using them is useless because for the LDS is everything ok?

I hope that I explained well my problem, because surely you understood that english is not my language!

They're simulated only in FSP, I believe.

Well.. something like an oil temperature decrease, which I've had twice.. that does show up on the panel, on theEICAS, of course. But something like a
decompression: I do not believe it would give any indication on the panel.

And, you explained very well, lol.. You speak great english.

Hi Chris,

you gave me a bad news... FsP is really a very nice add.on, and the failure module is a very interesting thing of it, but if it works alone,
not with the panel, is less nice and funny. It would be nice if I can disable the "false emergency" penalty, in this way I can use the failure
module of LDS in couple with FsP... another solution I thought is to duplucate via the LDS manual failures, the same FsP failure on the
panel... but I saw it's not always possible and practical... sigh... the pc has won! :bug

Someone has other suggestions for this matter?

It was kind of an interesting approach for me while going to Burlington,Vt. yesterday. While flying to the initial approach fix, in a Captain
Sim B727-200, I had the approach mode on, the localizer freq. set, course set, etc. The wx was overcast, dense haze and about 5 mi. vis.
Just as the aircraft should have made the right hand correction to meet up with the IAF(by this time I had an alive LOC), the autopilot
decided to go to craps on me and the altitude hold went away as well..the aircraft began a descent, but fortunately I caught it before I got
200ft. below the MEA. Fortunately the runway came into view just as I got the aircraft lined up on the course heading. No need at that point
for the ILS. But, I sure thought that I was going to have to do a missed approach and go to an alternate. Active Sky is such an amazing wx
generator!

Theoretically you can use the fsp failure system along with the LDS one.

Just make sure when you do have an emergancy, your sure if its a fsp activated one, or a LDS one.
You can do this to check if your unsure...

If you are unsure it's a FSP failure, a good way to be 100% sure is to right click on the mini display, select 'display option' and
check 'display failure warning icon'. It will show a green 'ok' or a warning icon on the mini display. Notice using this feature will reduce
your failure bonus slightly (as you're supposed to detect them yourself)

also if you were to use both together, i wouldnt enter a destination in the payload model as if you get a LDS emergency, and you have to
land quickly, the passengers wont be happy as they didnt get to there destination (as you cant declare a FsP emergency)

Yeah! This is a good idea Drew! Because I guess that the destination is used only to set the penalty if you land on another airport. Is that
correct? It hasn't any other purposes? It would be nice also to know if you can set only the estimated time of arrival without entering the
destination or not. Because is however a good challenge to land in time to destination with no delay. There are 4 important point that a
modern airline pilot has to keep always in mind, and they are the follows (they are also in order of importance):

1.Safety of the flight
2.Regularity of the flight (take off and landing on time)
3.Comfort of passengers
4.Airline's money save

So, you should always keep in mind to do the best possible to arrive on time, if you don't want to make your airline company like
ALITALIA...

I believe you still can, however, again if you get a LDS emergancy and need to land, your arrival time is going to be way out, and get
minus points

i guess it comes down to how much you want to use the LDS failures, against getting a few minus points from FsP if one does occor.
Then again in 'most' circumstances, you will still be able to reach your destination airport, so the penelty points wont happen too often

That's true! I will do in this way, thanks! However, there's only a thing that I don't like about the LDS failures: they are not really random. I
mean, you can set them to happen randomly, but the rate is too precise: for example, I set I failure every month... in this way I know that
when I had an emergency, for that month I will be safe and, moreover, only ONE failure at time can happen... but this is the simulated life
guys! If I want more realism probably is better if I pay for some hours of real flight!
