from the FAQ..

This number is calculating max cruise speed non-stop
from A to B. It isn't
taking into account pax loading time, taxiing, climinging speed, then cruise speed once your 30 minutes into the
flight, and then the same
thing again descending to your destination.
To get better precision, take the ETE number, add 5 minutes if your going to do a 5 minute pax loading delay (or
whatever),

am i right in thinking the pax loading time does not affect it, as its from when you release the parking brake after the pax are loaded?

Yes, that's correct. It starts counting from when you release the parking brakes and stops counting again when you put on the parking brakes.

With a little experience, i get right on time (in the 3-min per hour range) on, let's say, 60% of my flights. I find it quite realistic, and quite
near of what i am capable in real life... (in GA, of course, but the problem is the same...)

Cruise, climb, descent times can be precisely calculated, and even modified in flight. The trick is, as in precision piloting competitions, to
take in the calculations a cruise speed 5 or 10% lower than the real one. In this case, during the flight, you can slow a little when in
advance, and fly a little faster if needed.

Pax loading and unloading don't affect flight time.

Taxxing time is the real problem. It can be quite precisely evaluated, but if you have one of this #@&@ traffic taxxing sloooooooowly on the
runway, you're done. But in real life, the problem is the same. Even on my domestic airport, on some flights, i have to wait 10 minutes to
take off, because a 747 is in the pattern in VFR (yes...), or a lot of traffic is waiting too...
