Well sort of. This works if you just want to turn off your computer.
When you want to save, pause your flight, get out of full screen mode, minimize the screen. You'll still have FS running in the background. Then hibernate the PC.
When your PC comes out of hiberation, FS will still be running in the background and you can contiue your flight.
I run FS on my laptop and I need to turn it off to save battery power and this works if I'm mid-flight.
I know this seams a little simple but a lot of people never use the hiberation function.
