Delay 1st announcement ?

is there a way to delay the fist announcement till maybe 5min after passengers board well something little later then default starts i seem
to have barley started taxi and all the announcements are over almost and i don't get the chance to listen as I am busy requesting and
receiving push back and taxi instructions etc..

Sorry, impossible with the default announcements. Besides, real pilots don't hear the announcements at all.

and yes I realize they don't hear it, but on all the flights I have been the announcements as the once for safety belts how to fasten etc..
didn't really begin untill taxi, except when the aircraft was delayed they sometimes twice maybe played it earlier to entertain us with the
seatbelt buckle procedure

I use windows media player to play extra announcements I downloaded separately. With my lovely keyboard i press play/next/stop and it works just
fine... This way I can put announcements when FsP doesn trigger them....

In the cockpit though you barely hear announcements, maybe just a little. You can hear the initial ones, the safety video as you are on the ground and
no wind noise... But when you are climbing with engines and wind noise.. You cant hear a thing....

the first times I just relaxed and listend. now I think the blonde one is quite anoying while I am harnessing my bird.
solution: buy a cessna caravan :P lol
I usualy go to external view when my FA starts chatting..

I think it should be delayed a little, the announcements pretty much start right after the door is closed, and by then im prolly just set with
everythng and getting pushback and engine start clearence, by the time im actully fully pushed back and got engine 1 running the announcment is
already over, and would like it more to go while taxing... Im sure it cant be too hard to change it, or set a variable on how long you want to wait
before it starts.

isn't it possible to re-record the file but with a silent first period? and then replace the soundfile by the default one..

Why don't you open up the sound files, add a minute or two silence in front, then save.

You will still get the text straight away, but I imagine the sound will come later.

(Dont know if this works, I just plucked the idea out of thin air).

actully that would work becuase the text only says Flight Attendant: Saftey Announcement

As a matter of fact that does work, I have done it with the first announcement ( added 3 mins of silence ) and to the one after landing (
added 2 mins ). I use http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ it is a fairly easy to use tool.

Remember also if you're fluent in english no need to keep the text displayed,
just set them off in option.

So a simple silence at the start of the sound can do perfectly the work.

You can add the text "initial silence..." or something before it says Flight Attendent: Safety Announcement if you are worried about that.
