Tired of a 5-years-old-suitable gameboy-like M$ default autopilot? Here is your option : )
Following the quite discouraging (TBH) zero reaction to my previous post on releasing the B/K ADF (doesn't anyone use those
anymore? it's a replacement for the default ADF for Petes sake, and a good one at that), I nevertheless push on with my second
release, the KAP 140 autopilot. This is also a replacement for the poorly implemented default KAP 140 (or rather a bad parody on one) by
M$.
The one and only feature:
- True-to-real-life operation. A link to a RL manual is included with the package. Please read the readme.
Breakdown (the most prominent features distinguishing this from default M$ autopilot):
- proper VS hold and ALT hold with vertical "slew" buttions fully functional for both modes
- proper integrated altitude alerter
- armed mode, becomes active upon successful intercept
- safety features upon aborting APR mode
As the project grows beyond my time and effort capabilitites, I hope the community finds a bit of time to test this, helping me to polish the
thing before release. It is functional, and I've tested it as far as I could, but GPS modes are still quirky, and I need a second (or rather, a
thousands) check on non-gps modes as well.
I have considerable reservations that I will be met with the same wall of silence I recieved the last time. I am still at a loss as to what had
happened. Are the holidays over? Have there been some developments I don't know about? Did I said something wrong? So, if you don't
feel like testing the gauge, at least tell me what came down. Thank you.
