Landing the B767

Hey all,

Whenever I fly the 767, although I find it a beautiful looking plane, I just can't land the damn thing properly!!! I manage better when doing
an ILS approach, but it still isn't pretty, however when doing a manual approach, things just get down-right nasty!!!

Everything seems *fine...* until the moment I put down the gear, and at this point the plane just sinks like a brick! Is this normal, just me,
or is it the fault of Project Opensky who made the plane?...

How can I improve my flying skills on the 767, cos att he moment I try to avoid it when flying with FSP (as I always do), which is a shame

There is a not very well known trick with the 767s. ALWAYS keep your speed at VREF+5 (or more), as it loses a lot of speed and sinks easily when
flaring. I have eventually managed to land the LVLD 767 below 180ft/sec on a regular basis but I try to keep the speed high and never let it go below
135 knots, even when you here 50,....30, 20,....If you lose speed when lowering the landing gear I assume the Autothrothle is the key as it may not
react fast enough to counteract the drag, so stay alert and lower the landing ger at 180 knots,...instead of 170.

yeah I had the same problem, and its not pretty. I practised and practised and practised but only a slight improvement. I remember one
time after a 6 hour flight, on approach to mexico cityeverything going nice till i realise my descent rate was too steep so i put a little power
on the engines but that didnt really help. I managed to land the plane but i didnt save the flight cause that was my worst landing ever.
Sorry but I got no pointers there.
