But weren't people also perfectly happy about their FS2002? New things take time to get embedded into peoples mind and computers.

Eventually add ons will be released that only work on FSX. By then enough would be customers have upgraded their hardware to reach a
tipping point. Also newcomers might find out that FS 2004 is no longer available.
That's how it works all the time.

You can still buy FS98, 2000, 2002 and 2004! At least Airliner-XP is going to release their A320 for FS9!

Not so in FSX, even if we dress FSX down to use FS2004 aircraft and FS2004 scenery we get half the frames. And that CPU power is not

It's even worse than that.
My own 'investigations' showed that it is not just a matter of polygones (slow per polygon like descriped in the article) but of the count
of 'intelligent' objects. Add 1 or 2 AI object only and your frame rate has a drop like on the black friday on wallmarked.
They messed the object intelligtence and or data handling code imo.

I just wonder is there any patches for DX10 yet ? Has M$ released DX10 yet ?
And I would really like to know what people are thinking about FSX now.
