Hi,
Have just come across this while browsing, ( http://www.voxatc.com ) is their anyone using it at present and if so is it OK with FSP and any
other addons. I am assuming that this would replace RC4 but would still work with FS Navigator. Thinking of purchasing but all advice
appreciated.

Looks quite interesting but I don't use it. Have RC4 and Voice Buddy. I'm wondering if a person would need to do a "push-to-talk" when
responding to ATC while using Voxatc, and if Voice Buddy is compatible with it. Would be interesting to see if I could make aircraft voice
commands using voice activation and then respond to ATC using a push-to-talk key.

John, do a search for 'vox' in the subject line and you will find some threads about it. In general it got not that good critics. If you want to
compare vox with rc4, my opinion is rc4 will easily win it.

I use the 'Deluxe' version of VoxATC, and find it very good (certainly better than the standard version,with the robotic voices)

I also use 'Shoot' voice recognition alongside this on a seperate PTT button for all FSP & some co-pilot commands which makes for a
very immersive experience.

You do need a very good quality headset & mike for error free recognition to get the best out of it though

If you want to compare vox with rc4

Respectfully though, this is apples and snowmobiles.

VoxAtc allows you to respond to ATC with real commands, not just: 1,2,3,etc...

RC4 is entire ATC network that is basically an expanded (greatly expanded) FS model.

Look at the VoxAtc documentation and you'll see that, when ATC calls and says something like:

"Delta one seven five, climb and maintain one seven thousand"

You do not have the simple option of

1 - acknowledge
2 - say again

You have to cue the mic and speak: "Climb and maintain one seven thousand Delta one seven five"

I'm intrigued but, at the price they want (I think it was about $56 USD), I might just have to pass on it.

Now, if it worked WITH RC4, then there'd be room to talk. (no pun)

Also, VoxAtc doesn't control AI traffic - it has it's own chatter files so you would probably want to make sure you have AIsmooth to keep the
lanes clear, as default ATC needs to be disabled.

Just tried the demo today - I only went from clearance to enroute. That was enough for me.

Robotic, computer-synthesized voices, for want of a better word, suck! That's the first con. The next is, AI traffic is not controlled. Instead,
you get random chatter with airlines that no longer exist (I heard an Eastern call, for one).

I am CERTAINLY not dropping any cash on this. Now, if there was a way to allow voice recognition for the default FS ATC, or RC4, in the
way that VoxAtc does it, THEN we'd have something to talk about.
