High Altitude Winds

Ok when i DL real world weather it gives me winds aloft, which I want. Sometimes when Im cruising, the winds all of a sudden change
direction on me. Im guessing its because i crossed a zone to another weather station. The only problem is is that sometimes it changes
so fircely that it cause my aircraft to overspeed. It goes from a steady tail wind to instant head wind. This makes me mad beacuse im
scared to fly with real world weather with FSP because it will dock me for overspeed. I even Crashed one time due to overstress. HAHA
WTF FLIGHT SIM?!? any ideas how i can fix this??

A very quick fix is to reduce your cruising speed to 240 KIAS at flight levels above FL300. Plus, you'll get better endurance out of your
aircraft. Flying the CS 757 at 250 KIAS at FL350 or higher will certainly give you an overspeed when there is a sudden wind shift from a
tail wind to a headwind. It's happened to me in that aircraft. When I began using the CS 757 on flights, I tried cruising it at 250 KIAS ,
FL390, and had a good wind shift like that....got the overspeed. I backed off to 240 and it worked out just fine from that point. Plus, if you
are using the FS9 generated weather, the wind shifts are radical. Now, if you are utilizing FSUPIC, it will smooth out the shifting a bit but
it's not very noticable. AS6 does a better job of it.

Yes, you can bank on the wind shifting on you when crossing an intersection. Just keep the speed down to 235-240 and you'll be fine. it
wouldn't hurt if you read up on high altitude flying, true airspeed,pressure altitude,etc. It will help you understand why the Vne speed will
be reduced as you venture higher into the flight levels.

what do you mean its not very noticable, very noticable to me. are you sure its configured right?

try flying at an altitude of 35000ft with a speed of 0.75M

3 options

1) Fly at a slower speed so when you do get the wind shift, it doesn't force you overspeed

2) Get asv (yes i know as6 is out but asv sounds better ) and using the smoothing effect

3) Disable the overspeed penalty

i know all about high altitude speeds and all that. I dont really look at IAS during cruise. i look at mach. I guess i could reduce to .75 but it
will still jump up into overspeed. I have seem some pretty radical changes. ill look into that asv.

if i disable overspeed does that disable gear and flap overspeed too? or is that something different?

nope, just disables the overspeed

FSUIPC and Active Sky 6 both permit smoothing of wind and pressure changes.

I think that the problem is elsewhere: I have this problem, BUT ONLY with PMDG 737. With all other aircraft that I have experience with, I don't encounter this problem. For instance, I can safely fly my
727 a few kts under the barberpole. Also, When I watched different cocpit videos, I saw that the pros also flying their planes close to the limit. 5-10 kts remain only for possible turbulences.

Hmm, not quite sure how to answer this question. Are you flying at 100 knots? Are you asking if 100 knots of wind is fast? If you are
getting turbulence at a certain altitude, how about finding an altitude with less or no turbulence. After all, you can request higher or lower
altitudes.
