I need a little help guys ANYONE?

I have the 727 from captainsim. I dont see this in the manual so forgive me. I want to fly the aircraft now and i dont know how to set the
speed using autopilot and set the vertical speed to climb to desired altitude. I know this sounds weird but its a little different of course
than the other boeings. My flight instructor use to fly for united the 727, but im out of school for spring break so i cant ask him now.

If it has original 70's avionics, than all AP settings should be made with a bugs right on the appropriate gauges, just like in Cessna.
Though, I haven't seen Captainsim 727.
Oh, and some older 727 didn't have autothrottle, so no speed setting in this case.

You have to use the Flight Director (FD) for your vertical speed (you set your pitch) . Did you have a look on the Autopilot window? I'm sur you'll
find a ALT HOLD mode...
It's been a long time i haven't flown this baby, so i can't detail you the procedure. But i'm sure the manual explains it very well.

well i read the manual but the manual, to me, explains the gauges but not really how to use them. i did engage the flight director and set
ALT HOLD, however did climb to altitude. eg. if i wanted to climb to 10000ft, i can set the alt to that, but nothing to set the vertical speed,
also i dont see anything or know how to track the waypoints in this baby. Oh well maybe i should just be a test pilot one day when i have
more time.

Hum...I see...from what i remember...This aircraft is quiet old so don't think about tracking your entire route (FMC like)...It was nice flying with
her cause you had to track some VORs along your route & get intersects with DME/radials...(or you can use the GPS to confirm your position).
I know, there is a pitch selector not far form the FD or on the AP panel. I remember you have to turn a bug as well that activate the AP mode...like
HDG/NAV...etc. Strange, because when i read the manual, i had no problem flying this baby... Maybe you should check on CaptainSim forums...

I fly this plane all the time... you set the pitch command switch on the AP panel to make it climb or descend. The pitch command knob is
related directly to the position of the flight director on the artificial horizon. You can set it to a climb position even on the ground and after
takeoff lift the nose to the position of the FD, engage the autopilot and it will hold that attitude. When levelling off at cruise altitude always
reduce the climb rate to about 300fpm otherwise it will porpois out of control trying to level off.
