AHHHH!!! Need Help FS2004 stopped working after comp upgrade!!

Ok heres the deal. I bought a new mother board (ECS PT800CE) and processor (p4 3.4). When I reutrned with the comp, i reinstalled FS2004. Now when
I try to start the game, I get the splash screen and thats where it stops. the game does not start up. I am using Nvidia 6800GT 256MB with the
lastest certified drivers.(77.72). I also tried using the Forceware beta drivers (77.76) and those do not work either. I dont know what the hell
happened. The game worked fine before the computer upgrade.

Anuoe have any ideas?!

Did you do a fresh install of the Operating system or you just dropped the new mobo in and restarted and let the OS do its thing? By the
way what OS are you using?

Did you install the chipset drivers for the new mobo?

Well, I didnt do the installation of the new mother board and CPU. Its out of my league. I know a guy who owns a small computer store, and I had
them do it all(and for only $40 dollars for 2 hours of work). I dont think they did a fresh install of the OS, which is Windows XP Home BTW.

BUT, I did get the game to work by updating my sound card drivers, which where a little old. BUT, the game still doesnt run at 1024x786(or whatever
it is) in 16 bit mode. i DOES run in 32 bit mode just fine. So I guess the problem is more or less solved because the game works, but only in 32bit
mode at higher rez.

Do you still have the beta drivers installed? You should rivert to the latest certified. I would uninstall the beta drivers, restart the PC, install
the latest chipset drivers for your mobo (Via 4 in 1), restart the PC then install the nvidia drivers.
Reinstalling the chipset drivers might not be necessary (if they did things right), you might wanna to try the above omitting that step. If it doesn't work then try again the above including the chipset drivers installation.

listen mate,

get a windows xp copy and, install drivers and stuff. In 6 hours the job will be done. That's what i've just done this morning and everything
is working fine. A fresh windows copy is always very good for flight simulator. It's like fresh air for it!!!

When I changed MOBO and CPU, even Windows Xp wasnt working anymore. Big changes in hardware may cause software failures. In
my case I had to format the disk and reinstall XP etc again....
