First of all, I want to say that FSP is an awesome program and I would not fly without using it ever since I tested the demo software!
What a night for flying....first of all I tried to pull my PMDG 737 up after the rotate speed but she would not come off from the ground until it is
well beyond the runway and I got punished for it...oh well onwards during the flight at FL370, when I was switching the fuel tanks to maintain the center of gravity...somehow I forgot to turn the selected pump back on....both engines sputtered and died down.... as I try to restart the engine 1
(ctrl-e) back on its trying to turn back on...but I forgot to put the APU back online (even though its not supposed to run beyond FL320) so I
put it back online as I descend slowly to FL300 and to maintain the speed to avoid the stall then as I try to restart the engine 2 back on I
accidently opened main exit door! (shift-e which actually intended for ctrl-e) while enroute to KMDW from KLAS. It occured between the VORs LMN and OTM as I just crossed LMN...when I was declaring emergency there's no nearest airports that I can land immediately but diverted to Kirksville, Missouri which is the nearest airport that have a runway that is at least 6000ft and it took more than 20 minutes in total.
Some of passengers got injuried and aircraft lost the cabin pressure so I started the immediate emergency "crash dive" descent of -4000ft/min out from FL300 for 11,000 however I was unable to control the speed at that rapid descent rate of -4000 which I had to slow her down to -3500ft/min to keep the speed within the maximum operating speed without shattering the plane into the pieces!
So in the depressuration issue, I think its probably very unrealisitc that i couldn't regain the low atmospheric layer on time while I was descending like a brick in the attempt to save everyone on the board ?
Scary I know but I am surely glad its only in the simulation....yikes! And I better remap the keyboard assignments for main exit door and engine
starts sequence...it could be dangerous combination!
Maybe MSFS should add cabin door lock feature ?
Flight WN706 End of flight report Date October 08 2005
Flight ID: WN706
Pilot: Michael Madden
Company: Southwest Airlines
Aircraft: B737-700 Southwest Airlines Classic - Virtu
Flight Date: October 08 2005
Departure: 01h06 (08h06 GMT)
Arrival: 05h52 (10h52 GMT)
From: KLAS - Mc Carran Intl - Usa
To: KIRK
Nbr of Passengers: 103
Incident Report:
For some reason a cabin door was opened during flight and experts agree this is one of the dumbest things one can do. The aircraft sustained considerable decompression damage.Passengers in critical condition needed landing as soon as possible but the pilot failed to land in a sufficient short delay and the passengers died during flight. There was an exceptional pilot on board and despite the dire situation he was able to land the aircraft safely. The Captain has also declared an emergency before landing.
Passenger Opinion: Never fly again with this company (39%)
-Were in a better mood because they had food.
-Were pleased by the music on ground. A very nice addition to their flying experience.
-Were angry because some passengers were badly injured.
-Were angry because you rolled off the runway during take-off.
-Were terrified because of the problem during flight.
-Were thrilled that some passengers could be saved because the pilot landed in time.
-Were relieved to land safely after an emergency.
This program surely gave me a great challenge! Thanks Dan!
