Flying EGPD--EINN. ( Prestwick -- Shannon ) Have checked out Runways 24 & 6 for ILS approaches and course. Runway 6 in FS9
shows 056dg, in FSNav4.7 it shows 60dg, in Airport Chart Viewer it shows 62dg. Runway 24 shows 239dg, 240dg, 242dg. Please
which one do I use. Any help appreciated. Many thanks, John

any one, the difference isnt great, it should still land u in the center of the runway, but u can also look ahead and see if its leading you too
the center, if its gonna be off, u can quickly change the course,
bcz in small a/c u dont necessarily see exactly where it is as it is blocked, so the diff is small,
it shouldnt be a problem

but i would advise u use the fs9 one, thats the one i use, it has nvr beem wrongso far

Ok... I checked it up on my Jeppesen Charts for flightsim as they are usually extremely accurate... according to Jeppesen the runway direction is
059dg and 239dg and i would trust this figure. I also had a look quickly within the AFCAD file and the magnetic heading is 59.2 for the runway...
thus I think its safe to use 59dg & 239dg as you heading.

Speaking of runway direction, has anyone noticed that the PMDG 737's database is off when calculating the approach course? I mean I'll
set the correct approach course (according to my NOAA charts), and I constantly get the FMC message "RWY/APP CRS ERROR". Really
a pain!

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

Hmmm. I'm a bit shaky on radio-navigation but perhaps Brad can confirm (or deny) this.

The Locolizer beam and display are not heading dependant. They are fix. Meaning, it doesn't matter what you put as a course, if your
needle is centred, you'll are lined up with the runway.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Normally, you must set a course (in regards to VOR's), so that you can navigate inbound or
outbound on a radial (so that you get where you're going). ILS's are fixed at a present heading (picture a cone... getting smaller and
smaller as you reach the runway, yet larger the further you get from the runway). I hope this makes sense.

Prestwick to Shannon, sounds a bit like ryanair to me. Well in that case ud be wanting to take the course to Dublin airport and bus all the
ryanair passengers to shannon from their.

Finally completed the flight, landing perfectly. I used the Course given in FS9 with no problems at all. Many thanks to all of you for the help
you provided hope I can repay you with help at some future time. Not likly though as I am relativly new to Flight Simming and know very
little. But you have to learn fast in this game or you get nowhere. Thanks a lot for the help. John
