10 minutes from landing - prelanding checklist:
switch fuel tank to fullest.
1 minute later - airspeed down to 70 - quick, check the guages - fuel pressure is zero, emergency checklist, no time to read, just do it from memory:
push down for best glide speed, ( I hate the mooney, it is too sensitive at slow speeds....)
oops, pushed down too much, pull up --- too much, stall (there goes my points)....
push down to get out of the stall ---- tooooo muchhhhh - 3000 foot descent, passengers are screaming - SHUT UPPP, OR WE'LL ALL DIE!!!!!
switch tanks - oh *****, I turned it off instead of switching. change to left tank, restart engine
A little nervous on the landing, but we're down.
Total flight time: 2 hrs 8 minutes. It will take me at least that long to clean up the mess left by my passengers. I just hope they don't send me
their dry cleaning bill
