Additional VA scripts ?

Hi!

Downloaded and set up a test site for my VA. Take a look here:

Have one wish though. A new Scripts that shows each pilotys total flight hours, like this one for example:

http://www.satavirtual.org/acarslog/pilots.php

Here you can press the View logbook... and get the details of all flights.

Have any the knowledge to make this and add it to the downloads ?

Hello, this and mayn other things can be done in simple way taken that you know a bit MySQL/PHP
there is billion page on php SQL a search in google might give you what you want.


the way to do this look something like that you must make a SELECT
to get all your pilot name that you record in an array than do a SELECT for each
pilot that will list all their flight than add all the flight time.


SELECT * FROM flights WHERE PilotName="Daniel"

will give you all the flight made by this pilot, now it's just a matter to loop
throught the result and add their flight time.

I believe there is an "ADD" function of SQL that would give you directly the
result but my quick search didn't give me the solution for that.

working example (you must tune it or modify it a bit, this example list only one pilot's flight time)

you'll have the total flight time for the pilot "Daniel" displayed.

Hi Dan!

Sure, I know its all a matter of php/mySql knowledge. I just thought you maybe had a finished script laying around . I will get help from a friend
to make the needed scripts. Thx for your example, now I have a starting point

Its all a matter of SQL my friend, im sure its as simple as using the SUM command (if your using MSSQL 2000)

Well for numeric fields, Ive noticed that the product exports data with the units. And not just the #'s. So you may have to parse the results.

ie. 200000 lbs rather than 200000

I was sure that there was a SUM command somewhere but in my hurry didn't find it...
I bet you can add also time ?

with some time one can do a LOT of things using the exported data....

Hi,
I threw this together, I know needs work, but it will work for seperate pilot logs. All you need to do is use the script that has been put out
and change the SELECT strings to SELECT your pilot's name. Too Easy.

I want to build also my own flightlog based on the fsp sql databse, but i dont know how to do this, because iam new in php and sql, and don't know how
to make those request on the database and display it in html.
