I am having probs with miss-approach. What the right thing to do if you are using 737-800, Landing Gear down, flaps on Full. I keep on stalling when I try and do a miss- approach.

Full throttle, gear up, flaps up when speed permits, follow the instructions of atc.. It doesn't matter what you're flying it's all the
same. ![]() ![]() If it's stupid, but it works, it isn't stupid.

Thanks. I was landing at EGLL, I had 27 course set, ILS Freq set to 110.30 27R. I push the APP button. As I was landing, I found out the plane 737-800 was not going inside the hopes. But landing
to the left of the hopes and was not centre of the runway.

So what??!! Why did you wait untill the last minute to see and evaluate a bad situation. If you want to pretend to be the pilot in command
tthen do it. See the problem and correct it before it becomes critical. You fly the plane, the plane does not fly you. Words of wisdom from a very, very, old IP that once had the honor of teaching me how to hover. ![]() ![]() ![]() If it's stupid, but it works, it isn't stupid.

I found out when I was about 1000 feet, I tried to do the miss-appouch, But I stalled as I did not know the right step at the time.

You need to make a whole new landing attempt, so it's treated just like a takeoff, with full throttles. As soon as you know you have to abort your landing, the most important thing is to get back to normal flying and avoid a stall. You should probably do some landing practice to help avoid missed approaches. You need to be able to land manually, without using any autopilot assistance first. Then, when your manual landing skill is good, you should then allow the autopilot to help with the approach. That's how real pilots have to learn it. That way, when you see an approach using the autopilot begin to look bad, you can just take over manually and still have a good landing. Good luck! ![]() Post Edited ( 04-19-12 15:52 )
300,000 km/sec. Its not just a good idea, its the law.
