Add music to FSpax

Hey guys and gals...I'm not too hip to getting things to work right on a computer, so I'll try to explain this as much as possible. I'm trying to
add some music to FSp, and I was reading in the forums...how do I make sure the music is correct to work in FSp? Am using FS9,
Windows XP.

as long as they are a Wav file type, they should work

Thats what I thought too, but I was adding a song I had on my computer into the sound/crewpack/default folder, entered it as
ambientmusic5 and it never played. thats where I thought it would go, maybe I'm wrong

Have FSpassengers/Sound....not MusicCollection folder
I read in another forum here that it has to be 8bit...all I know is its in there and not playing. It's not MP3 at all, was jazz music from a cd I thought would be cool to have as cabin tunes
