Liveries

Ok I know this is kind of considered cheating but is there any way to change the livery you are flying to a new one. Like the PMG 747 has alot of
liveries and I bought the KLM one and now I want to fly the new delta one that just came out. So is there anyway to change to the new livery without
buying a new plane. I think that should be a feature to repaint your plane and select a new livery for x amount of dollars.

With PMDG, the add on liveries are typically free for download. If you go to their site, go to the 747-400 page and click on downloads,
you'll see the link to all the free liveries you can download. Now, I don't see a Delta repaint there though.

Its there its just been released but Im talking about flying them in FSP without having to buy a whole new plane with that livery.

Okay...I'm with ya now! I wouldn't think the livery of the aircraft matters to FSP. Have you tried loading it all up with the new repaint yet?

That's good to know. I didn't think FSP would be that particular about which paint you flew as long as the aircraft.cfg matched the aircraft
you purchased.

I'm interested to know the answer to this as well now.

*Edited to add that I think it's very cool that FSP does even recognize the livery, that way when you buy a plane, that's the exact one you fly without being able to fly a different livery each time.

Try going into aircraft.cfg and you'll find all the different liveries listed.

Pick the one you are flying in FSP and then just change the texture number to the paint skin you want - don't changwe the name or title of
the aircraft though. Save and try it again.

Here is how to do it. First you have to make sure they are compatible liveries, i.e exact same plane just different skins

Open the particular aircraft folder find the name.texture file you want. Say its KLM.texture and you want to make it the Delta.texture of which
both are already in your file.

Copy the KLM.texture file and paste it on your desktop in a folder called Simming backups or something to that nature

Then paste that repaint texture folder in the new folder on your desktop Do the same with the delta.texture folder so you have two back
ups

Now go back to the original aircraft folder and copy all the .bmps in the delta.texture, and paste them in the KLM.texture folder, overwriting
everything., Your KLM should now be the Delta repaint. When you want them back to the original copy the folder on your desktop that you
saved called KLM.texture and drop it into the original aircraft folder overwriting the one that was initially changed

Cool is there anyway to do it without moving textures to folders because I fly online alot and fly with friends with the same textures and I dont want
the Delta texure to appear as KLM (ment NorthWest sorry Plane nuts lol) .

It isnt necessary. When you want to switch it back just copy the original files in the folder that is a back up say in this case for KLM and
place them back into the KLM folder in your aircraft directory in the KLM.texture folder for that particular airplane. Basically all you will be
doing is occasionally overwriting the textures. As long as you dont cut the backup textures and ONLY copy them to place them back in the
original everything should be fine. Basically if you know what you are doing you can just copy the fuselage wing and tail sections in the
texture folder, but most just copy all of them,

Hey guys you got it complicated !

Just don't run your company with economic mode and you will fly any aircraft of your hangar without purchasing it.

But if you want the full company stuff that features FsP, then you can't have it all , a realistic part and another one that is not, like changing
your aircraft every 2 days !

If your company is already created, you can't disable his economic mode. I suggest you creating a new one, and transfer it your pilot(s).
This way you won't loose your flights and pilots data.

I changed the aircraft.cfg to use my new texures, since I can't nesecarily get a repaint in the city I bought my plane. When I do get to a city
with a paintshop (meaning getting around to make my livery for a particular plane) I simply put in another set of textures and change the
aircraft.cfg to use those. Same effect as with the above mentioned way to do it, but if you wish, you can now switch back and forth. It does
feel a little like cheating, so I stick to the livery once I get it done...
