Is this normal??

Hi everybody,
just some quick questions: I´m flying with a DC-3, turbulence hits the plane and she turns sharp left with over 50 degrees bank angle, I
deactivate the autopilot and the co-pilot shouts: "Watch the bank angle Captain, what are you doing?". Finally I get a penalty for extreme
flying and almost 5% reduce of respect.
So, at first, can turbulence be SO severe?? And if yes, what should I do ingame, let the plane just fly, no matter what? It´s really
frustrating having issues like this. It just makes the whole programm looking bad....... and it isn´t.

DC-3 have th autopilot ? :D Sry, i can´t help you i didnt even knew that dc3 have autopilot. Didn´t noticet it.

Yes, they do, looks like a Sperry type but that's not the problem. The problem is that for two flights in a row, between 4000-3000 ft at finals I get these masive turbs!! I get 50 degrees left
bank angle although my yoke is full right!!! How can this be realistic in any way???

Are trying the same airport over and over or does this happen with other airports, too? Do you use any third party weather add-ons and'or FSUIPC?

Different airports but in the same wider area of Carribean. I use FSX weather, the real one option and a registered version of FSUIPC. Is maybe some kind if conflict? Something in
FSUIPC I should deactivate?

My guess is that the DC-3 is a very light aircraft and when turbulance hits, it will really mess with it. The best you can do is maybe buy a
weather radar (Captain Sim if you are using FSX) and try to avoid inclament weather....

It has, for sure, something to do with the weather. When I change from real weather to one of the predefined ones, I get no problems. But I think that a DC-3 isn't light at all with 17 pax,
680 kg load and half the tanks full! Maybe it also has to do with the autopilot being "weak", I mean holding only heading and pitch. Never had any problem with the Mooney flying real
weather through Alaska in winter and fspax on. Anyway, I sold my DC-3s and got me a DC-6, flies like a dream!!

Try disabling gusts in FSUIPC.

Gusts were already disabled in FSUIPC when I got these turbs. I find really strange that I get so strong bank angles only with the DC-3 and until now, no other aircraft!
