Runway IFR

After 2 hours of perfect flying with 303 passengers in my 747 /400Thai we were approaching Chek Lep Kok (VHHH) from VTBD Bangkok.
The ATC annouces me for a go around. Fine as I still have time... As instruction turned around and continue... I waited and waited until
40+nm away from the airport. Into Guilin and still no contact. Waited til over 50nm, ATC instrcted to turn back to original approach before
settling back ATC annouces cancellation???!!! Contact them and request for landing and message back was something like : runway is
IFR request denied ... It is the first time ATc denied me... tried many times, same answer. I passed the runway and saw lights flashing
troughout half the runway... was not prepared for alternate landing so aborted....

What was the wrong?

That's because your IFR was cancelled, and you were not allowed to land under VFR on that airport 'cause they were under IFC due to
the weather conditions!
In this case, to get landing clearence, you have to reactivate your IFR.
To do so, select "New IFR destination" in the ATC menu, then flight planner will appear. Just click "Ok", nad in the queston box: "Move
your plane to the destination?", click "No" (otherwice you'll have to start your flight from the beginning )
That's it! Now you are again under IFR, and ATC should give you vectors to land.

ok understood but why was the IFR suddenly cancelled? what did i do wrong...

Well, I can not tell you for sure, as you understand, but there is only one reason in MSFS why ATC can cancell IFR.
It does it only when you do not follow their instructions.
So, I may only assume, that you mode something wrong, not the way that ATC wanted.
Most likely, it was when you started go around procedure.
From what you say - you were flying for a while with no instructions, e.t.c., it looks like you have misanderstood ATC's request for transfer
to another controller.
After some time, as you didn't contact it, your IFR was cancelled.
But that could be also due to some other mistake, like flying wrong direction or altitude, though in this case, you would be 3 times noticed
by ATC before IFR cancelation, so you would probably notice this.
That's what I think. Although, I can not be sure for 100% since I didn't witness what was happening to you.

ACT will terminate your flight plan only if you fail to respond to an instruction. You do not necessarily have to follow that instruction. Howvever, you must acknowledge all NEW instructions. If FS ATC asks you to "please expedite" a turn, climb or descent and you ignore them, your flight plan will NOT be cancelled. For example, if I have to be away from the computer for a while and ATC has just asked that I contact a certain controller, all I have to do is acknowledge the request - I don't have to act on it - and I can come back to the computer an
hour (or two - or three...) later and contact whichever contoller is available and not have to worry about having my flight plan cancelled.

This has happened to me once before, i think it's a glitch. I was following all instructions, on the heading ATC told me to fly, next thing I
knew i was cancelled and had to resubmit my clearance.

ok guys thanks alot .... if it's not a glitch... I must have been knock off my condentration doing something else and lost the ATC.. but if that
is the case then I would see it in F10 wouldn't which I swear checking into it... well I just hope it does not happen again...

Well, it could be a glitch too.
ATC in FS9 is far from being perfect.
I've seen much more scary bugs of it.
Just remember, you may always reactivated your IFR in case of any missanderstanding or a bug.

Yes, but if you ractivate IFR close to landing FS2004's less than perfect ATC will take you on a 75+ mile detour and bring you back into the
airport. One I reactivated IFR and it added 45 minutes to my flight... The best answer to thie problem is AI Smooth, which properly spaces
your aircraft and other AI landing and will prioritize your landing, putting AI birds on a holding pattern to land. With AI Smooth you get empty
runways at the busiest airports, always, and FS2004 ATC doesn't notice any changes.

Some addons will cause spontaneous ATC IFR cancellations. For instance, the VA that I belong to has their own proprietary flight
tracking and reporting system. Every time coming into KMIA with their 757, my IFR flight plan would get cancelled at the exact same point
even through all instructions had been followed to a T. Go figure.

I have experienced this too, and I am guessing it is caused by an error in the scenery. Once, on approach for landing at KMIA, ATC sent me miles and
miles away from the airport in eastern direction. When was 80nm east (over the atlantic, couldn't see land anymore) I gave up.

As I recall, the approach routes are stored in the scenery (not the afcad) and there are probably some errors in these. Also it may be that an afcad
file for an airport doesn't "fit" with the approach route in the scenery, and ATC sends you to Timbuktu (unless that's where you're headed off course).

ok now problem is solved , I always clicked yes and I started back on the airport , what is very frustrating after a 9hour flight
