I fully recomend what I do.

I keep a notebook (a real one) where I write down all my keys and what addon they are for. The only way I'm losing my keys is in a fire, or if someone
comes and takes the notebook and all my hardware.

Keep this in mind. Keep your keys in a safe place.

Or just use an account like hotmail or yahoo and mail your keys to yourself on that account. Always there, wherever you are

Anyway the best way to not loose code is simply to print the mail of course,
HD crash, mail program fail but we still have paper 5000 years old

Yep, this is what I do. It's the best way to back up codes and purchase emails.

That is unlikely though, but it has happened.

I got the boxed version of the PMDG 737NG, that contains some papers where all my serials are or other needed items to install my addons, and I got a
backup DVD of tall the instllationfiles as well

keeping any unlock code or password in a mailbox is a VERY bad idea...
hotmail was in the past subject to mass cracking.

paper is better, Application that hold them encrypted is even better
if you backup the database from time to time... (I wrote such an utility:
512 bit crypted, hacker deception etc etc.. only problem: if one loose
the password to access the application nobody will be able to decode
and retrieve the data)

Might be a very bad idea but it saved me after a small fire once.
paper is easily lost, databases are nice till your harddisk crashes and in case of fire you lose everything besides when you stored a copy somewhere
else (like that lovely lady next door).
I think a harddisk crash or loosing a piece of paper will happen far more often than someone hacking your mailbox just for some serials

In my own oppinion, if I lose my addons in a house fire, so be it. That would be the least of my worries, yet it would be a great loss.

I better make a dvd-back up of my entire addon download folder and have copies at three different locations

I would need about 20 dvd's then, times 3 is 60.....However, most addons can be downloaded again so i just keep copies of important documents at
several places.
