Virtual cockpit disappears

Hi

I am flying PMDG's 747-400 and when the flight attendant comes in to tell me that all passengers are on board as soon as I here her
close the cabin door the VC dissapears and I have to go into the pmdg menu and tick the vc checkbox then all is well again. Any ideas
what would be causing this. I could live with it but if there is a solution to solve this I would appreciate any advice.
