Hi all.
I've been using FSPax for a long time and there's two problems I'd like to solve regarding my experience with it:
1) Is it possible to exceed the famous rate of 4000ft/min during a descent?
I realize that the pax fear increase to demonstrate that you are descending at a high rate... but that's not real at all for two reasons - the first,
pax respond to change in G's. They don't carry a VSI with them, so they are unable to distinguish between a 4000 or an 8000ft/min descent as long as
you change the rate gradually - and second - many times in real life pilots exceed 4000ft/min. It happens when ATC constrains the descent, so the
pilot reduces airspeed while maintaining flight level to later change airspeed for rate thus remaining in profile... and that maneuver often makes
commercial jets exceed 4000ft/min!
2) Is there a chance to alternate to a diversion field without being penalized for "not landing at the correct airport"?
I realize that in real life people do get unhappy if they don't land where they're supposed to. But FSPax treats a safety diversion (for weather
reasons, for instance) equally to a lunatic "let's land at that random field over there". Would be nice to have a feature where you add you alternate
field(s) during preflight so that if you do have to alternate, FSPax gives you a less severe penalty.
Thank you all in advance.
