Here's my 2 cents:
First flight with FSP, bought brand new Fokker 100, short 1 hour hop, all goes well on departure, except I don't turn the music off and the pax get annoyed at the music (LOL!). Descent goes well, turning to final, gear down, First Officer goes "we have a problem". Left main gear didn't come down. ON A BRAND NEW PLANE?! I want my money back! Tried some hard landings to bring the gear down, worked on third time around. Go-around procedures are almost automatic, I do them without thinking: Full power, stick up, flaps 1 notch up, gear up. Oops. I go around, gear back down, First Officer doesn´t say anything, although I only get 2 green on the panel. Is it down or not? I risk it. Lift Dumpers Arm, here we go. touchdown, aircraft rolls to the left. On the report: "The passengers didn't like the fact that they all went home in coffins". Or something like that. I love this add-on, I can't remember the last flight when my palms sweated so much I had a hard time gripping the controls. Thanks, Dan! Cheers, FPB

It was a shocking day - thunderstorms, and all the passengers were happy, though nervous about the weather.
Silly captain didn't check the engines on takeoff - too bloody busy watching the runway zig zag (they really need to stop them moving) and got off the ground, and whoops, goodbye right engine! Oh dear, trying to fly with one engine, ceiling at 900, and I've got to circle the airport? Long story short, we landed, and $734,000 later I installed a new engine, with a % hit of 4 to my rep.

Short flight from EIDW to EGGP shortly after take off in a C172 my engine temp goes way up and i start losing power. Declared an emergancy and landed
on a road. turns at it was a bird strike! pax werent happy at not landing at the airport tho! Oh and have been shot up over Baghdad twice. Got me loads of pilot points but has cost me 2 aircraft! I love this program! ![]()

Here one for you, happened last night: This is probably how the NTSB report would read
C208, Caravan Amphibian, crashed at 18:23Z 22NM SW of PASI (Alaska). Nine people, including the pilot, died instantly on impact. No MAYDAY or Emergency were declared. It took over 52 minutes for the SAR aircraft to reach the scene of the accident. A USN frigate and a Sea Hawk helicopter were deployed to recover the bodies and the wreck from the frigid Pacific ocean. Looking at the reckage, NTSB investigators have established the following: the aircraft was on Autopilot (NAV and FD) at the time of the crash, the pilot standing in the cockpit, a timewarp system that compressed time at a 16:1 ratio was activated. The VOR1 was dialed to PAYA which was out of range. From these clues, the NTSB is able to get a clear picture of what happened to the aircraft in the final moments of flight: once the aircraft lost contact with the PAYA VOR, the autopilot performed a right turn back towards PAYA. The aircraft was, at that moment, cruising at an altitude of 5,500'. Since the Autopilot (ALT) was not activated, the right turn towards the station caused the nose of the aircraft to dip sligthly. The added pressure of the turn quickly brought the aircraft into a spiral dive. The pilot was able to return to the cockpit and put the engine lever back to idle, leveled the wings and pulled on the stick. G meter indicated that 4.2Gs were pulled to bring the aircraft out of the dive. The aircraft impacted with the water at a -3 degree angle with a vertical speed of 122 ft/s and was travelling at 173kts. The timewarp system had been disactivated by this time. It seems that a pilot error and a reckless non-adherence to aviation regulations (which clearly states that a licensed pilot must be in control of the aircraft at all time) were at the root of the crash. That will teach me to listen to my wife when she nags at me to take the puppy outside! Advice: never leave your PC unattended when flying! ![]() ![]() ![]() Phil Post Edited ( 07-14-05 16:01 )

Or mine, took off from Livermore CA going to O79. Nice flight pax 100% the whole way, no turbulence or anything. Dodgy approach to the
runway they vector you over a mountain, not a problem and at threshold pax still 100% satisfied. Landed, turned on music, strobe & Land lights off, exit to gate, brakes on and killed the engine lights and electrics. 450 point penalty (What????) what for? Apparently I took off with the Strobe lights off, and got to the gate with them on ![]() wrong airport ![]() The moral here is if your flying to those small bush airstrips don't set a destination, at all, and don't turn strobes on till on the runway, I think the takeoff w/out was cos I flicked the switch by mistake as I hit the runway before takeoff, but I turned 'em straight on again so they were on when I took off, and not in any way when I hit the gate. Now I gotta lose that pilot, (I refuse to let him fly with a black mark he didn't deserve) and create him again. ![]() Flying for Landmark Airlines.

First flight - SFO - LAX.
Get everything setup on a B1900. Passengers loaded up, I pressed the shortcut keys to close the door. Long taxi to the Active. Finally cleared for the take-off. Line up, add full power, at around 80 knots I noticed a "loud" wind sound. Interesting, I had never noticed that before. Passing 100 knots, pull back on the yoke. Just as we lift off, the co-pilot comments: "it appears we left the door open, we need to land immediatly." Squawked 7700, reduce throttle to stay at 120knots. Fly a close circuit and land. As we're rolling out I "hear" the emergency vehicles following us. Once I come to a complete stop I shut the door. However, by this time, I'm the only person left on the plane... :-) It was interesting to see the passenger "fear" meter. It actually went down once we leveled off. Is this a possible bug? how can passengers load if the door is closed? Dean ![]()

just few words about penalties : the last flight make us landing at Munich ; everythings seamed to be ok untill i parked the plane (parking
brakes on) ; the plane start jumping suddenly !! a bug with fs9 ... my flight was ruined !! End flight display reported a serious problem , landing without calling for emergency , passengers screaming , etc etc... result : 50 points bonus > nice landing (thx !) -1850 points malus for the horrible flight ! that make me nervous : big minus score always considered first ! for sure , if i roll on a frog on the runway , i will get minus points because Fspassengers keep hidden far in the software a sentence from the World Wild Life such as : nice landing ; +50 points ; you splashed a frog & and you are a murderer : - 1245876521033 points , you bast..d ! Now , lot of flights to be completed to get a positive score .. or a terrible minus one increasing ... lol Could we get some extra 10 000 points for serving frog legs as hot food ?lol:
Sortez des toilettes Captain , on voudrait atterrir...

>> the plane start jumping suddenly !!
So the frog was still alive !!!!! ![]() There are indeed many reasons not to use instant record: jumping frogs, keyboards stopping to respond, spouses plugging the vacuum cleaner to the aircrafts main electrical system... What are your 5 top reasons for not using instant record?? Papa Zulu

Took off from KPUB (Pueblo, CO) - destination KSAF (Santa Fe Mun., NM) in the Carenado Skylane 182 RG with 2 passengers aboard.
Flight was going perfectly well, climbing to FL 120 with hardly any clouds, sun just about to set over the Sangre de Cristo mountains to our right. I'd hid the FSP mini-display momentarily as the last time I looked everything was fine, with pax satisfaction 100%. Then... all of a sudden....I think some kind of popping noise followed by screams from behind me...quick look at the mini-display and there's some major decompression problems (one of the windows has blown out)....then all of a sudden ATC tells me to climb to FL150 as we're about to go over the mountains and yours truly hasn't properly accounted for the 14000ft+ terrain during flightplanning!! ![]() As the high altitude winds start blowing through the cabin the 2 passengers are starting to develop breathing problems & I kind of freeze and start panicking as I look down and the mountains start looming all around below & it's getting pretty dark (that's what I like about FSP - the way it puts you right on the spot - you HAVE to make some kind of quick decision on what to do next..and I have it on 'recorded flights mode' so there's no room for error!) Anyhow, rather than turning back I tried to make it over the mountains as I thought we could maybe get clearance to descend a few thousand feet as we start to pass over them. The passengers are already injured I thought, so why not at least try to make it over the mountains so we can descend and then make it on to Santa Fe. I thought so long as they don't die on me it won't be too bad (at 'Barnes Airlines' xAHEMx the comfort & safety of our passengers is xCOUGHx always given top priority and we pride ourselves on this...xCOUGHx xCOUGHx ![]() the 'passengers comments' simply reads 'NEVER AGAIN' in big red capital letters (!) and then it tells me the passengers are injured and need to be treated as soon as possible. Now there's the dilemma of whether to risk their lives so as to make it to KSAF (but avoid getting penalised by landing at the correct destination) or to get the plane down on the ground at the nearest available airfield. One of them is gonna have to be sacrificed..either pilot points or passengers.... Well, I suppose my guilty conscience finally got the better of me, and I make it known to ATC I want to land at Taos, NM, which was now the nearest airfield to my current position. It was a bit of an awkward approach whereby I had to loop back round, ascend momentarily to FL150 again (!) to clear the mountains surrounding the airfield, and then descend very steeply towards the runway. Anyway, the actual landing was quite a decent one, a nice smooth touchdown...however, upon pulling into the parking area the end of flight report broke the bad news to me that one of my passengers had unfortunately died.
