Boarding Procedures

Hello everybody!

I want to make a question that concerns the FS, even if it is not very important because it doesnt affect simulation,although it enhances it.

1)When must the passengers board to the plane, before, after or in the middle of the "cocpit preparation"?
2)When do i have to request a "Clearance delivery", before or after the passengers board(in case clearance is beeing asked at VATSIM
multiplayer)?
3)When do i have to execute a "Shutdown procedure",before or after the passengers leave the aircraft?

If your like me, and prfer realism.

useally my flights dont have the full, start-up from cold and dark, thing

the aircraft arrives at the gate, and me (and my crew), will releave the crew that brought her in. so if im planning for a ATL-DTW flight, the
plane im useing might not arrive until 45min before the flight. this is where flightaware comes in. it alows you to trak both your flight, and
the incoming flight.

Say im planning ATL-DTW with a Off-Block of 1300. the aircraft arrives at the gate at 1215. giveing 5min for deplaning, 10min for cleaning
and catering. then 5-10min for fueling (witch can be done during the cleaning/catering process) its 30 min to remain until the next
departure. perfect. i useally hop in the plane 30min before departure, take 10 min to do preflight, and start boarding, allowing 20min of
time to board. then hopefully depart on time.

the previous flights crew will leave the plan in what i call the "Stand-Bye" state, (thats probly not the actual name). its simply power to the
aircraft. on the default FSX 738, its battery on, APU running, engine genarator and engine hydralic pumps off. all lights off exept NAV and
Panel if nessacery. when i get in, i simply turn the hydralic eletric pumps on, and and start programeing my FMS.

when i arrive i shut the aircraft down to standbye, then after everybody has gotten off, if i need to i turn her to cold and dark.

i useally get IFR clerance about 10 min till OB.

what i do is
30min before O/B: get in aircraft, start preflighting
20min till O/B: PAx start boarding
10Min till O/B: IFR clerance, seatbelts on
5min till O/B: start running throue finall checks, make shure everything is good
1min till O/B: if your useing AES, this is where i push F6 to start the departure process

O/B means Off Block, or how much time is left till all PAX are on board.

If the APU is running, you need to have your beacon light illuminated.

i like to pretend that its not actualy running., instead i like to pretend its External power thats powering the aircraft. then i can have the
beacon off until i switch thye APU on and switch to internal power

Since we're on this topic, when is the APU, battery, and engine generators supposed to be on? Is battery off entire flight, and same with
APU or are there certain times all 3 are on/off?

batterys on entier flight

APU is on when on the ground, it provides power whiel engines are off. otherwise the battery will eventualy run dead

Engine genarators are on only when engines are running

So battery on, then APU on. keep it on until engine start up, then turn it off and switch ENG genarators on. then repeat in reverse order at
shutdown.

you also can turn the APU on in the event of a Engine Failure

I beg to differ and I am sure Apache will use a similar boarding technique to myself.

1 Start FS/FPS
2 Open and drink 1st beer
3 Plan best route (to the fridge)
4 Get another beer
5 Push a few keys and flick a few switches while drinking beer
6 If any PAX are daft enough to get on open the door and let them on
7 Hmmmm where is that beer?
8 Push some more buttons and switches and hope the noise gets louder
9 Call the tower and request clearance delivery (of more beer)
10 In the style of a race car driver taxi and take off, forgot to mention this stage must be accompanied by more beer
11 Have an interesting landing, forget what FSP says about t/d rate if you dont spill any beer it is a 'KISS'
12 Hit some more buttons and stuff and hope it gets quieter
13 Skip this one too unlucky dont want to splii any
14 More beer
15 Check the penguins are ok

If anyone wants ths checklist in PDF or other format please let me know

The procedures you just proposed are reasonable and i think that i will certenly follow them(i am a masochist, but i like it)!

airmiles well as far as i can tell it's not the best procedure to follow....You said "1 Start FS/FPS" then you must
get a "AEE928 ready to drink beer request clearance"(in case you are on VATSIM).You must get a responce like this one "AEE928 cleared
to drink beer via large cold glass drink maintain 330ml of consumption contact ground when ready to drink more".That was a good
one airmiles .

ya know i think i can work a few drinks into my procedure. budwiser, then ten a shoot of Vodka with the whole crew, and maby the
dispatchers. after the flight

The ONLY item needed from preflight to post flight is BEER....yep, that pretty much sums it up

then off to the hotel (room paid for by company) where a mini bar awaits.

then the flight crew goes off to a long horns, where beer of all kind is.

then back to the hotel, where a glass of scotch and a good nights sleep before the return flight tomoro lies

what ever happened to 8 hours from bottle to throttle?
