Question regarding flaps and lights

Hi!

I have stumbled upon two issues which I don't quite understand.
I have started career mode and so I am stuck with small, one-prop aircraft.
Just today I had a flight in severe weather conditions (realistic weather) and even though I made a perfect landing I got penaltized for not setting
correct flaps during take-off AND landing. The carft was a Mooney Bravo.
I set half flaps when taking off and half, later full flaps during landing as needed. What are the correct flaps positions for a Mooney in bad weather?

The second issue I encountered with a Cessna Skylane. I tried realistic lights penalties but it seems you cannot set the lights correctly on cessnas
because they have only one switch for both bcn and strobe. You can't switch off strobe when leaving the runway without switching off the bcn as well.
Is this just me?

Phil, I've got the same thing. I've turned everything up on the realism and wanted to start off with the lowest starting money amount
($500,000) and but a Cessna Sklyane. I always seem to pick up some sort of light penalty even when i fully know that I've shut them off
well before the parking ramp. Also, when I shut the plane down after a flight, engine off, avionics off, gen. off, bat. off, etc., the gauges are
still on and I can hear the ground radio! I was thinking that it's just me and I should do a reinstall. Weird.... could someone else try this? to
shut down to a dark cockpit after landing?

Also what's with the 50x income/losses. I've got the fleet income disabled but the amplification of my flights is puzzling, and with penalties
it seems to be alarming.

Hi Guys,

About the light penalties, I covered that in the Tips and Trick from the Beta Testers thread. You are right, you cannot set realistic light
penalties if the aircraft shares the strobe and the beacon the same button.

For the flaps, I'm not sure about this but I think that FsP checks the Flaps setting at 100'AGL after take-off. If you've retracted all your flaps
prior to that altitude, FsP will not detect them and you'll be penalized. FsP does not check the flaps if they are set to the required settings
for that aircraft... it just checks if you did set the flaps.

For the gauges on after the Avionics switch has been turned off, that might be a Fs2004 problem, not FsP. Did you have this problem
before?

The 50x increase is there to generate somekind of income. An average two hour flight in a C182 brings you about $7,500 with the 50x.
That means that it would take you about 64 hours (not including maintenance) to purchase a 2nd C182 if you started with lets say
$250,000. Without that 50x, you're now looking at 3200 flight hours to raise enough money for a second C182.

Thanx for that helpful info. I now understand the 50x effect and I can live with the light issue.
The dark cockpit problem with things still running didn't show itself until I tried FPS. I think that I'll try a refresh/install.

Actually, I just tried the dark cockpit problem and was not able to replicate... do you have Fs2004 9.1 installed or 9.0?

There's an update to 9.1? No I was not aware of this..... it is available at FS9's website? I knew that they were working on some type of
patch but is it out now? Yipee!!

Yes, it's on their site. I don't know if it will fix your problem but it might help.
