paint schemes

so, another quick question. Will you be able to create logos, paint schemes etc. in the usual manner but apply them to your fleet? i.e. you
see your fleet in the skies with you? i guess that this is cosmetic and so is a silly idea really, but i wonder if it would still be possible in
the aircraft.cfg ?

You won't see your other planes flying, because they won't be. Dan's working on a bonus scheme so that it feels like your other aircraft
are earning money for you, but they won't be if you get my drift, you will still be doing all the work. Maybe one day we'll be able to have AI
pilots flying for us, but not just yet I'm afraid.

Dan has incorperated a great new feature called Fleet Income
This gives your aircraft the ability to earn income while your on another flight.
From Dan's info on this. The income of these aircraft is based on your flights.
FsP calculates your actual flights and induces them into your other fleet
giving you quite an accurate income for these aircraft. Absolutley Brilliant!

True, there won't be any 'cause it's impossible to make a basic setup for everybody's flight plans but it is possible to have just that with
some engagement on our part. The idea is the following:
Put down all your routes.
Decide what planes will be used respectively.
Find and download freeware AI planes. If you'll be flying for a national carrier you'll be able to find appropriate liveries - otherwise make
some yourselves.
Download TTools, decompile your flightplans, add your new airplanes to the list, add their respective routes with time schedule and
compile back.
That's it. One day's work at most. Your fleet won't participate the statistics on the level of the individual planes, but you'll see the money it
made and after this mod, you'll be able to see the very planes in action.
Piece of cake, I tell you!

Nice idea for the techies among us, but I'm not too great at painting, even my attempts at the Flight1 and Captainsim models leave a bit
to be desired, and they have some of the best templates around.

Me neither. But I will make and compile my fleet's flightplans. And regarding the livery - I'll download an already existing one, maybe some
imaginary VA with a neutral name like Adria, AirAdriatic, 'something' south etc. The point is I can reckognize my fleet!
Functionality above the aesthetics (pure Bauhaus, what can I say! )

That sounds like a brilliant idea! so, im quite basic regards to all that sort of decompiling etc would it be an easy thing to write up a "idiots
guide" on step by step how to impliment this? in fact, you make it sound so simple... could someone not write a utility to do all this for
you? then it will provide that little bit extra... i.e. being able to see your planes on your travels.

i take it that in FSP we will be building our routes and henceforth producing "flightplans" that we can then use in TTOOLS? also, do we
pay supplements for our flightplans? i.e. route costs? and surely TTOOLS will be a way of cheating wont it?

Not really, there's no cheating;
In FSP we will be able to start our company - weather from scratch - (saving and investing what we earn by flying -say an old cessna ) and
slowly enlarging our fleet, or we can skip that painstaking beginning and take a multimillion $ loan to buy our fleet immediately.
Either way you will soon (hopefully) have more than one aircraft. The aircraft you'll be flying will be the only real aircraft. Hehe: 'real'! Hehehe!
The others will be 'ghost' aircrafts. They won't be flying, but their carachteristics - plus the quality of your flying will be used to contribute
your income. Otherwise - what's the point in earning money to buy more planes if they won't participate the growthof the income? For instance:
After a while you earn enough money to buy another cessna. That new cessna of yours will increase your income AS IF someone is flying
it, proportionaly to its 'kind' - single prop piston GA (and in accord to your flying)
So you see..... there are no other planes. Your income will progress AS IF it's been operated. You won't see it, but she will be fully functionall,
so to say.
However, if you WANT to see it - you will have to create it. In order to see an AI plane, it has to have a model, livery and flight plan/schedule.
You will be able download the model. The livery too unless you want something specific, hand-made. But flight plan is something you will have to do yourself. I tryed to briefly explain the basics here:

@ means the flight ends more or less on time.
Here you can notice tdifferent format of departure and arrival, for instance: 4/20:10,@4/21:05, means thursday, departure at 20:10 and
arrival at 21:05 sharp.
The first day is Sundayj - 0 and the last is saturday - 6.

And once again, time is UTC and the time of the arrival should be realistic for the particular kind of plane!

So basically, it's just a visualisation of something thet will take place deep down in FSP code. Seeing your planes take off or land won't help you to fly better nor will you be able to influence their flying. So, there's really no cheating. Just an eye candy!

That is really one of those, the more you play the more its going make sense i guess? What i wonder though is how do you know how
long a flight will take you? does it have to be so precise? also, how do you know the aircraft number, is this from aircraft.cfg?

I like the idea of the "eyecandy", not interested in cheating. I think i may be being naive but if it is all this simple then surely there is a way
to code FSP to create the flightplans and then edit them depending on the livery we choose? or vice versa, maybe someone has a nice
program to create the repaints easily and then write to our FS.

The functionality of the "earnings" program is great... dont get me wrong the program is going to be absolutely brilliant... i just would love
to see our planes in the skies when we are doing our flight home... you know what i mean?

How does one know how long will the flight take? Well, captain... earn your wages! What are we paying you for?!

Simple: create a flightplan in FSNavigator. It will show you everything: fuel spent, mileage, flight time....
Next: open ActiveSky or some other weather related program, enter that flightplan and it will download the real weather for the whole length
of the trip. See if you have a tailwind or headwind and adjust accordingly. That's it.

In one of the former threads Dan has explained the tolerance for being too late/too soon is up to 10 minutes per hour of flight!
