Hello dear simmers. As many of you don't know, I'm an avid Concorde fan/SimPilot. I've logged well over 200 hours in the beast. I figured
that seeing is how the bird is a speed demon, I should share some valid infos on how to properly keep it under control below 10,000ft.
Firstly, it is not nessessary in any way to get over 250KIAS below 10k. This doesn't help acceleration to Mach 2.2 very much. If you use the
autothrottle, and set it to about 235-240KIAS, you'll do just fine. I know it has a high rotation speed, but once you're airborne you won't
really need all 95% N1 to keep it going. One thing you can do is simply turn off the afterburners. This helps save on fuel greatly during the
climb above 10k. I'm aware of the 400KIAS by 4,000ft rule, but I personally have never needed to do that. This bird gains speed rapidly,
even during climb.
Mind you, these are just my personal tricks that I use to keep my speed down. I'm currently saving up to get on in FsPax, and I'm looking
forward to the big purchase!
