Just got FSpassengers........but

Hi Peeps,

I have just purchased FSpassengers, looks like a really good program. Just thought I would ask if you can start Flight Sim at the
boarding gate as the first part of FSpassengers is to board them. How can this be done when FS starts from the runway?

FS doesn't have to start from the runway. When you select your departure airport when you are creating your flight, go to the pull down
area where it says 'Active runway' and select a gate position instead. I haven't started a flight from the runway in as long as I can possibly
remember.

I remember back in FS95 or '98 when there wasn't an option to start at the gate (or if there was, I didn't use it because of some add-on
program I used that required starting at/near a runway). Now, I use all aftermarket AFCAD's, and only start my Southwest flights at
Southwest gates! Much more realistic, and I have many airport layouts memorized!

You can start FSP from an active runway. You just take the risk of getting hit by an incoming plane. On small airfields without taxiways, the only
paved portion is the runway, and you have to start FSP there to avoid the "out of bounds" penalty for landings/takeoffs. Most people of course do
start at the gate or in a parking area.

I envy Brad having the taxiways memorised too. I wish I could, the only ones I know off by heart are KSEA, KLVK and parts of KSFO. It's
sad really that I don't have EGLL memorised as it's one of my "local" airports.

Right you are Phil!

It's not always fun, to be honest it can occasionally get very repetitive. That's usually during those 3HR + flights. I don't do many of them
(since the more senior guys usually pick them up first.... can't believe they like them... maybe I'm just still immature ); I like the shorter
ones!
