OT: World Series

outside the US (Toronto) that participates?

yep funny, the MLB needs some japan teams, then well see. I was a big fan of the world baseball classic

Football (soccer style) is the only sport where you have to beat the whole rest of the world to win the world championship.
Anything else is just our good old-fashioned American hubris. I didn't even know who was in the Series until one of my third graders told
me last Monday. I think I've seen one pitch live, it was a called strike for a third out strikeout and then the tv went to another #@$%! 3
minute commercial break so I found something on Discovery Channel about sharks and promptly fell asleep. All in all a decent, peaceful
evening. I'll wake up again for football (american style, and English style) on Saturday and Sunday. he he Go Cards I guess, I used to
live in KC though so I really don't care too much for either team this year.

Good point; personally I find real football (soccer) to hold my interest much more that most American sports. I'd much rather watch the FIFA world up
than the world series, super bowl, et cetera. But I actually don't mind baseball that much.

The american sports are more TV friendly.....short action....break....advertisement....short action.....but that no substitute for a good football
game (note: I omitted the word 'american' on purpose)

Just watched my home club whooping the doo-doo out of their opponents in their last league game (Bremen : Mainz - 6:1) So far they
scored 13 goals more than the 2nd placed team

But it was time for the Cardinals to win THIS TIME
